Hello My Lotters!
I am running low on some of the ingredients to make cupcakes but I do have a Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix that I was thinking of changing to a chocolate by using some cocoa powder. Can this be done by only adding this ingredient or is there something else that is needed? Happily I can do the buttercream icing without problems.
Thanks!

I believe you have to melt it first with a bit of cream or milk so it wont end up bitter,Milk and cream will turn into a milk chocolate mixture which I find more appealing than black chocolate, unless you like bitterness, I base that on my own experience. I remember directly adding cocoa powder in pancake mix and its ends up tasting like newspaper. Then on my next try I melted the chocolate first and its much better

I'd think so but I am not sure.Recently I just used butter instead of oil because I was out of oil.And it worked.
