Well my favorite holiday is approaching fast it is Christmas. I am starting my shopping right now I want to get it done. Most of it will be done online like I have been doing. I am doing most of my shopping through amazon except for a few things that I will go to stores to get.My son will be the hardest to shop for being a teen/adult but now that he is working he needs work clothes so I am going to get him work clothes and a few other things.

I am going to do a little bit of online shopping for Christmas because I have amazon.ca gift cards that I can use. I've been doing swagbucks for the past year to accumulate enough amazon.ca giftcards to cut down on Christmas expenses.

Ah yes, I love internet shopping! Avoid the crowds, I say! I get lots of interesting catalogs in the mail. All year long I ignore them, until Christmas approaches, then I look through them very diligently and I order my 'send home' gifts at about this time, hopefully from one catalog, and hopefully one with the lowest shipping charge. I order the items online as it is faster and easier that way, but I have my list of what I want to order with the page and item number and description handy. I am hoping to do this on this week's pay day.

I don't like the crowds but am not thrilled about online shopping either...for most things. I like to SEE or HOLD what I am wanting to buy to make sure it is what I want.
But this year...after years of odd gift giving and mothers complaining about kids toys (I was told do NOT buy toys for my grand kids...but later found out...I was told that but the other grand parents weren't!) anyway...2 christmas's now and so disspointing so this year...I have been working on a quilt for each child. A hand made quilt for each child about them...like one GD loves horses so her's has horses on it and her fav color..purple. The other likes Orca whales so tha tis what is on hers etc. I was told by my daughter "no more blankets, mom" but sorry...it is what I do now...quilting.. and they can be used and the kids will love them and nothing I have bought int he past was good enough or right..so I am done following lists...last year I asked for a list from the parents for each child...got them things that were on the lists and still...the parents weren't happy with it! Christmas is getting not so nice for me!

I don't know how old the grandkids are but if they are old enough they should make the list not the parent. I feel it should not be the parents job to be upset over what the child gets it should be the childs. As for the quilt that is awesome that you are doing that and you are so right they can never have enough.I am so sorry to hear your kids are doing this to you.

Christmas is my favorite holiday in the year as well, mostly because of the fact that it is the one that I'm able to give everyone that I care about a gift at the same time. You see, the reason that I love Christmas so much is mostly because of the fact that I am a person that really likes to give to other people.
I don't have as much money this year as I would like to have to buy gifts for my loved ones, but I am still trying to get as much in gift cards and such that I can use for Christmas presents.

I have already planned my budget and am hoping to start my shopping soon. I need to make a list and of who I need to shop for and how much I can spend on each person. I am making a lot of homemade gifts so that should save me money. I love Christmas as well and cannot wait to deck my house out for Christmas.

The hard part for me is setting a budget for my kids because of the age difference one is younger than the other and easier to shop for and the stuff they ask for or need is not as expensive . My son is an adult now and most of the stuff he wants or needs is more expensive than what my daughter wants or needs. This year for my in laws and my mother they are getting pictures because they always complain they don't have any of us.

I'm not into Christmas shopping yet. Still waiting for money to buy gifts for close relatives and friends. I am actually hoping I'll start soon to avoid christmas shopping rush. I hope and pray that my online earning will indeed give me happiness!

I hope your online earnings will give you the happiness you want. When I Christmas shop I try to go for just the gifts and get out of the store I hate crowds and the pushing to get to the items I figure if I can get them online I will do that.

Christmas shopping never leaves my mind now since November is here. But every time I visit shops I cannot find anything good for gifts but instead finding one for myself and my daughter. And so I left shops with stuff for me and my baby... so crazy sometimes. Hubby and gets mad at me whenever he saw carrying stuff again for me. hahaha.

I also love Christmas very much. I am looking forward for Christmas shopping and trying to save money for it. I think most people love Christmas very much and especially love doing various shopping during Christmas. Christmas is fun with love, joy, happiness, cakes, friends, songs, etc.

I am looking forward to seeing all the houses decorated and having my tree up to enjoy.I like to shop but Christmas shopping is very stressful even if you know what the person wants.

i am finding it hard this year. i find that now my daughters are teens (and very picky), it is hard to know what to get them. my clothing tastes are not theirs and gift cards, well, are sort of boring actually because they don't get to open their gift on Christmas because really, it is a delayed gift. i am making them some stuff plus i want to get them movies and a few other things.

I am in the same predicament as you with my son he is 19 and it is hard to buy things for him because he is so picky. I don't want to get him a gift card because then he would not have anything to open.I will be getting him things I know he needs like work clothes and some movies and a few other things.

I will be starting to shop for christmas also. it is a big holiday and lots of money spent. Not just on gifts, but on food as well. Kids becoming an adult are hard to shop for. Some things that they want cost way too much. I have an idea what I will be getting everyone this year.

My daughter is easy because she is still young. But like you said once they become adults it gets harder to shop because things become more expensive. My son needs work clothes so I will be getting him those with some other things.

My favorite Holiday is coming too, but we have to go through four Birthdays to get there, Dorothy, Deanna, Buke, and Taylor, we pretty much have everything for the Dorothy, Deanna, and Lilly, now to work on Samantha,Paul, Dennise, Buke, Taylor, and Bryan, and something for my mother in law, everyone else gets cookies.

Christmas of course is my favorite anything with giving, and getting gifts is fun too. The people we give cookies too look forward to them each year. We have a list LOL. Baking is something that takes time and patience, you either have it, or you don't. Taylor is not good at baking but cooking she is awesome.

Apart from my boyfriend's gifts, I have bought gifts for everyone of my beloved already. I mean, I like buying the gifts in advance. I hate buying stuff in the crowds, and sometimes there are better deals earlier, because well, every shop wants us to believe that they have their greatest sales for Christmas, but they aren't, because it is the most profitable time of the year for them. My mom is going to get a board game she wanted for a while, my dad novels in French, because he wants to maintain his knowledge, my brother a sweater (basically he likes dressing up but hates shopping, so obviously, I buy clothes for him :D) and maybe a cologne sample and my best friend a customized tee-shirt. I might get my parents also theatre tickets and my best friend something little extra like a pair of earrings. With my boyfriend, we made a treaty of telling each other what we want, but it seems like I'm gonna get him a nice elegant long-sleeved shirt (but we're gonna choose it together because he's really particular and picky, and he told me that I shouldn't do fashion gift surprises, and he's gonna choose :D), and I think I'm gonna get him theatre tickets, too :).

Cool I like festivals also. Is it possible for you to go to this festival without your husband? Even though you can't go to your husbands parents I am glad to hear that you can do your celebrating at your own home.

Yes it is sure wise to start early. With much coming up during the festive season one could be so overwhelmed with other activities and fail to acquire a gift or something for themselves. Again I have realized how prices shoot up immediately everyone is rushing to shop during Christmas.

Every year I always say I will start early and never do. I think this year I will be doing most of my shopping online except for the stuff I know I can't do online.

I agree it is a lot cheaper shopping online. That is where most of my shopping will be done from this year.
