I shouldn't be left in the dollar store alone

I went shopping at the dollar store this afternoon. I got a pair of headphones, as marco chewed up my last ones, 2 binders for work, adn the courses I'm taking, as well as 2 notebooks, 5 stockings (yep I can't count how many babies I have so I need to go back and grab 1 more), 2 pairs of thin gloves for work, place mat for marco bowls so he doesnt get the food around the room, and 2 weighted water bowls for Marco, Max & Gizmoe, a few scrapbooking items and accessories. I went to Walmart and got a pair of scrapbooking scissors on clearance for $1.66, a few little pop up candy canes for scrapbooking $1.50 each I grabbed 3, Halloween lettering which was $1.00 for the alphabet, a package of letter I think they have multiple of each letter in it for $3.50, another set of add ons for my front title page of my album. Went to work to pick up some probitocs for Patches, some treats for them all. I returned the cedar shavings to the store and got a refund which is a bonus.

Sounds like you had fun and got everything and then some for what you needed and saved a lot of money! I love shopping at dollar stores and finding bargains, it makes me feel good that I got all that stuff and it didn't cost a fortune.

Sometimes at least here some other stores are cheapier than the dolalr store. Now here most items are $1.25, $1.50, $2.00, $3.00, $3.50 and so on. If you shop elsewhere sometimes you can get a better deal, such as clearance at Walmart.

True, where we live at though, it's closer to the dollar stores than it is to Walmart. But you're still getting a bargain no matter where you go!

Im the same. I go crazy in those stores. i really miss he 99 cent only stores in vegas. Cant wait to get back there to shop at them.

Here the dollar store isn't quite a dollar, they do have some $1.25, $1.50, $2.50 and so on depending on the item. But depending on what your looking for you can get a good deal.

Are you trying to shop til you drop. It feels good sometimes. It sounds as if you did some good stocking up, and if you have to drive to get to the stores you might as well buy the stuff you need and save an extra trip.

I made a list of items I need, and been pushing off. I was looking for a container for scrapbooking but didnt find one, might have to go for Micheals.

I'm a dollar store addict! There is one about 2 minutes from my apartment and I spend a lot of money in there. I basically go for the papergoods and household items which are always so much cheaper than the grocery store or even the local Walmart.

Oh, dollar stores... or well, euro stores in my country... I can spend all my money there... material for jewelry making, make-up, fun glasses, cute rings, earrings, necklaces, notebooks... now I'm looking for cute Christmas stockings as well...

I sometimes end up over buying, or compulse buying. But I wrote out a list before, and stuck to it.

sounds like you have been busy! i love the dollar store for scrapbooking stuff. in fact, once, i bought these little metal embellishments at the dollar store and saw the exact same ones (repackaged of course) at Michaels for much more than what i paid!

It seems that you have made a day of shopping and having fun. You sure do know how to shop it seems like and you seem to know exactly what you need. Going to the dollar store is a great thing because i feel you do save money there but you have to be carefull because some items are cheaper at walmart. I know its hard to know all of it but if you do you can really save on items as well. Hope you have fun on your scrapbooking stuff, that seems like fun.

You did really well at getting a lot of bargains. Every time I go into dollar tree mt younger brother comes in with me or else I would overspend. My brother also comes in when I go to Michaels or JoAnn's because I would overspend. I still have to get a few Christmas items this year (a stocking for Randy and three for my cats), a couple of snow globes, and a few baskets that I am making for some friends. I went there today to get candy for Halloween and looking for bags to put my earrings in so I can sell them, but they did not have any small bags. I might get small sandwich bags and put my earrings in there to sell.

shopping-shopping..i like it :) It happens to me when i go to such a store and i have tons of unnecessary things as a result..but i am trying to change this habit for few months and am quite success too..i make a list of things which we really need and think once before picking up any item kept in an offer.

Well what can I say at least your weakness is good deals and not just shopping in general. I know its so easy to get caught up in great buys. Sometimes I'm even guilty in buying things I probably don't need without even realizing it. If you do this all the time I suppose you can try and make a list of the things you really need or put aside a small amount of money for those random hot buys and little things that make you smile.
