ATM Money decamped?

Hey guys, it was very shocking to hear that some days back an ATM near my house was decamped by some unknown assailants. They first destroyed the ATM machine and then took away around 65 lakhs from it. I got to know that the security guard at the ATM was not present and hence they planned it out very well and taking an advantage of the guard's absence over there, they took away the money easily. I do not understand that even ATM is not safe these days. All our money are in it and i am really tensed if such things would happen in the future also. Even the CCTV footage is unable to trace them and the investigation is on the way. What are your thoughts on this? U had any such incidents in your area? What do u think can be done to increase the security of ATMs? Please do share your thoughts!

Thanks for sharing subhojit Such things happen here too, last evening; I went to buy stuffs from market here; hubby’s pension arrears was credited to his account last evening, so we try to draw money from the counter near the temple; close to our home, I am so upset, it had no money, we went to three others; the doors were open, in one there was a dog and a calf. There was no armed guard too.

Thanks a ton for your response. Oh my goodness, that is so sick to hear about the apathy towards the ATM's. i think this is the real picture of our society where no one is bothered about our money. I know u must have got shocked after seeing this and it is so disgusting when u see that no money is present when u needed it the most. Such incident has happened here also last week and i hardly see any anticipation from the police department to solve this case. Did u get the money back or not? What say?

Wow, it is so shocking! I have never heard about this before. I know that many criminals will steal the credit cards and passwords to get money illegally, but I never imagine that the ATM will be destroyed. How crazy they are! I believe that the government should try their utmost to prevent such cases from happening again.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes it might be shocking for u but for us it has become very common to hear such things to happen. I do not understand how these criminals plan and succeed in their plans also. They are easily challenging the very institution of police and i hope next time Government comes up with a good strategy to help prevent such things to happen. It is very bad to hear such things now! What say?

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes even the CCTV cameras were failed to trace them and may be this was also a part of their plans to fool everyone and take away the money. These types of crimes have become rampant worldwide. These days ATMs and jewellery shops have become soft targets for the robbers due to which they are easily committing these crimes. I think we have to strengthen our security so that such crimes can be checked and avoided at large. What say?

I can't recall anything that happen like that in our place. However, there are many incidents in our place wherein some ATM cards are hacked. Terrible isn't it? I hope these people would know what they are doing. Poor victims too.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes even ATM cards are being hacked these days which is very much shocking for all of us. We take so many years to earn money and these people take away our money by fooling us. They do not value money and hence they find pleasure in doing so. I really do not understand how such crimes are being committed openly and that too in front of CCTV cameras. What the hell is our security personnel doing. Had that security guard was present, the crime could have been averted at large. What say?
