I have 2 cats who are brothers and are 6 years old. Bubba basically sits in a corner somewhere or on my bed most of the day. Alphy has to be with me constantly! If I am laying on the couch watching tv he has to be somewhere on me like on my legs or chest just as long as he's on me he's happy! When company comes all of a sudden they are both out and nosing around whoever is here. As soon as company leaves they are both off and doing whatever they do. Bubba goes back into hiding and Alphy is waiting for me to sit somewhere so he can join me. Alphy loves to be petted and have his belly rubbed. Bubba only comes around me when he's ready and is not a fan of being petted of course unless he is on my shoulders then I can pet him. Alphy likes to be brushed but Bubba doesn't he just tries to bite the brush. Isn't it amazing how cats have such different personalities even though they were brought up together?

I do believe that animals such as cats have their unique personalities. In fact, I have always been questioning the claim which says that animal don't think, they merely act on instinct. I don't agree with that claim as if you examine and look closely how animals behave. You would notice that they do know how to love, some care for their offspring, know how to take care of themselves and even loyal with their owner. Is that all just mere instinct? I don't think so. I believe animals can actually think and depending on the species, they can actually be very intelligent.

I think cats all have different personalities, just like all animals. It's interesting to me that they can be so different. Sounds like you have your hands full with your furry friends!
Sometimes I wish they could talk and then other times, seeing the way they act, I'm glad they can't!

That is so cute, and yes all cats have their own personalities. I have 3 cats, a brother and sister, then a boy I adopted a few years later. My girl is the princess, and she needs all the attention. She thinks she owns everything and bosses everyone around. Both my boys are laid back, the one is very skiddish and his sister has to protect him when everyone else is picking on him, or he is scared. The other guy is very energetic and playful.

I can't think of a single cat owner who would disagree. I have two cats that are the same age. One is domestic long hair, the other domestic short hair. Tanuki, the long hair, is very needy, very vocal, and very loving. She must sleep on top of my leg when I sleep. If I sleep too late, she will wake me so that she can have her breakfast. The other is Muffin. She is aloof, she hides when company comes in, and she would never lower herself to beg or be needy in any way. They are too funny. I know they make my life more enjoyable and I hate it that they are getting older.
