how can i set up my laptop a wifi hotspot and connect my sony experia phone to the internet through it?

You can use a software called CONNECTIFY to convert your laptop as a wifi hotspot.

I was also wondering how to do that. I knew it could be done. I just didn't have the knowledge yet in how to get it done. Thank you for sharing the information. :)

Most likely you can. I'm not familiar with that model of phone but most smart phones offer such a service for an extra fee. Also some people find ways to get around the fee by jail breaking their phone however that is illegal and I'm sure you do not want to do that. If I was you I'd call your service provider and/or check out the app store. You're liable to find something on there too.
