Disney has bought Lucas Films and plan on making three more Star Wars movies. A local weatherman when being involved in the reporting of the story on the local station commented that he was worried Disney wouldn't be able to make as good Star Wars films as Lucas. Well he must not have seen Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. When I saw it on TV, I thought during the first 20 or 30 minutes that it was a parody because it was so laughable. Then it settled down to have a fairly decent plot. But Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi were terrible choices for those roles and did a terrible acting job in them. Natalie Portman was O'K as Padme Amidala, the mother of Luke and Lea who were born near the end of the movie with Padme dying in child birth because of Anakin having hurt her. The movie was really ruined by the terrible acting of McGregor and Christensen as the two leading characters. So I say to the local weatherman, Disney can't do much worse than that.

Well, I am not a Star Wars fan as I have never seen one of the films. I was doing a survey with someone recently and he mentioned Darth Vader. I had to ask him who Darth Vader was and he responded "you must be the only person in the United States who has never seen Star Wars".
However, I own a small amount of Disney stock so anything that benefits Disney benefits me. I wish Disney good luck and I wish Star Wars good luck. I hope Disney has so much good luck with Star Wars that the stock spirals up out of control and they are forced to split the stock.

Was Pixar the company that Steve Jobs founded after he got fired from Apple before he was re-hired years later?

I am curious. Who should be playing Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi?

The actors in the first three films, they were actually the middle three film trilogy of the planned nine film series, were good. But they would not have been age appropriate for the movie I am talking about. All I know is that whoever cast that movie movie should have been able to do a much better job. The next trilogy would take place after the originally one to finish out the nine film series. The two characters probably won't appear in them not even as flashbacks.

I heard they pushed it through before the new year, as taxes may (are due to) skyrocket, making all costs rise, of course..

And they spent to much money for the rights. maybe they could have lowered their theme park fees for a good xmas gift to its patrons. They seem to never think of us.

Well they got all of Lucas Films which includes not only Star Wars which has had only six of the original films planned, but also Indiana Jones and possibly other franchises. They probably got studios, equipment and a whole filming structure with employees, etc. They are making more off their movies than just about anything else so it can't hurt the theme parks.

I think Disney buying Star Wars franchise is a good move. I think Disney has been on buying spree buying good franchisees such as Marvel Comics etc. before buying the Star Wars franchise. Also with Lucas deciding to retire, he had to park the franchise under a bigger banner and Disney was a good choice. Already Disney has promised three new Star Wars movies, one every 2-3 years which is great news for Star Wars fans.
Cheers!

Personally I liked all of the star wars movies that came out thus far.. I also like most of the disney movies that have came out over the years.. It will be a nice change to see what disney will do with star wars.. I can not wait to see what they are going to carry on in the new movies and what they are going to change.. There is only one way to find out, wait and see what it brings...

Honestly, I didn't ever watch a Star Wars movie before. But I am quite familiar with their characters and plots. What really caught my attention was the Disney part. I guess , just like what you have said, Disney will make a good movie out of Star Wars. I will be looking forward to that news. Disney will surely take care of such a legendary and timeless series.

You're right those movies were terrible compared to the original three. I couldn't stand the acting either half the time. The only really great actor I recall in those movies was Liam Nessan who they killed off lol. Also within the first five minutes of Jar Jar Binks opened his yap I wanted to punch him lol. He is one of the most annoying characters ever.
To be honest in a way I wish they'd leave Star Wars alone but that's probably because I didn't care for the episodes. One of the problems with the newer movies was that George Lucas wrote all or a large portion of the script. The man can write a good sci if story but he needs to stay away from writing actual scripts. Anyways hopefully Disney is smart enough to never let that happen again. As you said they cannot do much worse. I will say though that I hope they don't make it into something more childish since most of their movies are somewhat.
