Candy

My son went out last night and got a bag full of candy, but e gave most of it away and I'm like why go if you only want certain kinds I could have went and bought him candy. I guess its the idea of being out after dark with friends is why he went. WHo knows with kids

It sounds like he values the experience more than the candy. That seems reasonable enough. If I were a parent, I think that I would prefer that my kids give most of their candy away. I'm not a big fan of letting kids load up on junk food, and I would really be hoping that my kids wouldn't have any great desire to actually consume all of their haul.
