Are you a procrastinator?

My Dad once told me don't do today what you can do tomorrow and basically that's what I do. I'm sitting here right now and should be out doing errands but I just can't get myself started. I did put clothes on since I was in my pj's but that's the closest I've come to getting ready. The weather is a factor in that I'm waiting to see if the sun comes out and it doesn't rain. I hate being in the rain and carrying an umbrella! Everything I need to do today can be done tomorrow except that I need to get some groceries and cat food at the store.
Do you do things as soon as they need to be done or do you put it off for another time?

yes i am sometimes, depending on the situation.. if i feel that the delay of my action would have bad result, then i will be urged to do the task rightaway.. but i know its not good and im trying to change it.. :-)..

I've been trying to change it too. Especially when it comes to doing laundry. It's a good think I have a lot of clothes or else I would have to do it more often. Laundry is something that I hate to do. Sometimes after I've done it it will be days until I get it all put away. To me that is the worse part of doing laundry.

hahaha.. yeah thats also so true to me.. but what i do is think of the positive things or outcome for doing things on time, the feeling of having some achievements after the day, so rewarding.. that's how i overcome procrastination or laziness sometimes.. :-)

My auntie used to say to me procrastination is the thief of time, I never knew what it meant and asked her at the time to explain what it meant, but then I was young, carefree and time didn't matter to me, I had loads of it, you don't think about it when you are young I guess. Now I am much older and well aware that time is abundant, I try to do things today, but it depends on the mood I am in. I am the kind of guy who lives for today, not yesterday or tomorrow, but today. And if I feel lazy today, then so be it, jobs can wait till tomorrow, unless real urgent.

I'm going to have to say I'm a procrastinator, I should've been at the grocery store and the gym and..I should have all of that done by now!
For some reason though, time seems to go too fast for me lately and it's always way past time to do something and I just don't realize it.

Yes I am a procrastinator to some degree.. There are certain things that are better off waiting on.. and others that well get done when they need to get done.. There is a list of things that I have to do each day or else my house hold would be a chaoitc mess.. Sometimes there isnt enough time in a day or enegry just to get everything done.. When I am doing everything for the house etc.. I do not have the time to sit down a take a breath.. and I end up passing out really early in the night.. I can not take a day off, that just wont happen.. So there are some days that I just do half of what needs to be done.. Everything else can just sit there untill the next day...

I think doing half of it is just as good. Most things in my housework can wait until tomorow or sometimes next week! I live in a very small apartment and seldom get any company so I'm always putting something off. The thing I hate the most is laundry and even though the laundry room is just an elevator ride away I always put it off ending up in having to use 3 washers. I'm trying harder to do it as soon as I can but I"m not there yet.

Yes house work is not something that most like doing or put high on their to do list.. I do not like doing laudry either... The laundry room is down two sets of stairs and three doors.. Have a bad back so that doesnt help either.. But if I dont to it my boys dont have clean clothes.. I was always behind but my oldest son started school two years ago.. So I guess the circumstance has changed me a bit..

I was a big procrastinator back in my school days. i try not to to carry on those ways as an adult. there is too much to lose along the way when when you pout things off too long.

It is like having a research paper done way ahead of time. I do not want cramming. I always want to have a lot of time to think and make my work good. So instead of doing it just a few days before the deadline, I always start doing it as soon as I am given the task/assignment.

I think I'm a selective procrastinator. If I can put off doing something that's not going to critically affect my work or our family, then I try to avoid doing it for now and just do it when I think it is convenient for me to do so. But if it is something really time sensitive and a big deal to us, then whether I like doing it or not I do it even way ahead of schedule just to make sure that I still have enough time to review it or to correct whatever needs correcting.
