I have been at my daughter's home since Monday night because of the
outage in my home...Now don't get me wrong, I was more that happy to
spend the time with my daughter and her family but, there is nothing
like being home...
The service was finally restored today about 4:00PM and I am sure
everyone was just as Happier than me...See I was in a very safe and
warm enviroment at my daughters...So many people were in the dark
and cold...
I am very blessed...and so are a lot of others...Prayers to all of
those who lost so much...including some lives....

When I was holidaying in the US first touring and then spending a few days each with my friends' and extended family, although a new experience filled with pleasant surprises, I was just wanting to get back. No matter what, nothing like home.

I was in the US for about 2 months and a couple of days in Canada. The tour conductors know where to take their customers and they did a great job. It also included a luxury cruise in the Bahamas through Royal Caribbeans - Sovereign of the Sees.

Glad to hear your alright, and you got to spend time with your family. I know so many must been cold and scared. The power was out here a short period, but north was out for a feww days. It's been really cold and snowing here which would make it worse.

Yes...East, west, home is best! And glad to know you are safe now and nice to see you have a great family. From the description of tornado, I can imagine how terrible it was, especially in cold season. That reminds me another natural disaster--earthquake which happened in Wenchuan Sichuan province China 2008. Here, just please take care of yourself, pay more attention to the weathercast. Have a nice day. Alice

No matter how much you love your family, it is still not the same as being home. I am suitably impressed that you got power back in less than a week. In 1999 there was a tornado near my mom and it took more than two weeks to get the power back up. It is so sad that there were such great losses, and it gives us a taste of what poorer countries go through regularly, and often without warning. Just think how awful this would have been if people had not evacuated and if the storm was totally unexpected.

hi bjc oh I have seen some appalling photos of a huge number of homes on fire in where was it Qu eens.? that was one really savage hurricane and so large too.,
I am so glad you have now got your lights back on and are home safe and sound. I know you enjoyed being at your daughters but there's no place like home really.

Are you from the place which was devastated by Sandy? Oh, I'm so sad that it was just this time that your electric power was finally restored...hope you guys are finally okay and that you are coping up on what was left by that hurricane....

I`m glad you are back and safe. I know that there`s no place like home. I love to travel, but coming back is part of the fun. I remember that once I even started missing the mop.

Hi jack, yes I am in New York State on the east coast, I am not
in one of the burrough that was hit very hard and the only
damage in my village was some flooding in the low lying streets
because like I said I am right on the coast...but the village
was totally dark for 4 days,..not gas stations, no fast food or
restaurants, no traffice lights, no school for 4 days,it was horrible...
I was lucky enough to be able to stay with my daughter and her
family who had electricity...
I was really blessed, there were familys with children and no
power for 4 days..
thanks for your concerns....

Home sweet home :) yes there is nothing like being at home..When my mom comes to my place or goes to my sister's home..though she is very- very happy and enjoys with us but actually get relaxed after reaching her own home..she never plans to stay more than a week outside her home and calls per day to be assure if everything is alright there..after my marriage I feel the same whenever i left my home for some days..:) even when i go to my mom's home though I have spend my 24 years of my life since my childhood there, but now its my home where i am..we (me n hubby) made it together..

I am happy to know that you are safe and everyone else also. God is great ! Yes , there is no place like home , thought it is your daughter's house still you are not as comfortable as you are in your home. I have same experienced , went for vacation ,
the pace was so luxurious but still i am longing and wishing to be back in my barracks , so different to be there , felt i am so protected and relax in my own home. Have a great Sunday !

Hello Angel, thanks much for your feedback...yes you are right
elegance dosen't mean anything if you are not home..the best
thing about this incident is that I spend 4 days in a row with
my daughter, her husband who is super nice, and my grandsons..
Thanks and you have a great Sunday as well...
