No, I'm not much of a musical type person. But my brother palys a few instruments. Let me tell you I am ready to go smash them all and punch him. Just last night at 1am he is upstairs playing this irritating stupid instruments and doesnt see the problem while he keeps everyone else up.

I don't exactly remember what age I was when I learned playing some chords in our guitar but I do remember that it was my older brother who taught me those chords. The first song he taught me to play was Achy Breaky Heart. He taught me some basic chords that went with the song. I'm not a good guitar player still, and have learned very few songs from then on.

Hi tedifa, Yes I do have a little experience with a guitar. My uncle played guitar when I was young and my mom sang back up in a band. And my father sang and played guitar also.My father-in-law had a great singing voice. In seventh grade I took guitar lesson's at school and learned to play one song.I used a guitar that my uncle bought me.I was terrible. Both my son's and my daughter and musically inclined. But,somehow my generation was skipped.LOL! Oh well!

Cool! I had been wanting to learn how to play the guitar but never got the chance. If ever I want to learn the song "Take Me to your Heart". This is the song my husband sings to me ever since we met. And also "The Love of a Lifetime" by the firehouse.

Gosh, this is difficult, I'm not exactly sure what song I ever first played. My father already had a guitar so as young as 6 or 7 years old, I'm really impressed with this instrument and it keeps me wanting to learn playing it. I think, the first song I played is a local song from our area. The first and basic learning is strumming, so I just strum with it playing the chords which is almost the same the entire song. :)

Guitar is like a people. They have different character and sound. If you're enjoy and having fun with that you'll hard try to learn again someday. But i guarantee maybe your finger will hurt for the first time, after that you'll never feel anymore.

Absolutely right because fingers are not used to slide and clip on those strings. Once the callus starts to develop, then it will be easier to play with it. And when you stop playing guitar for a while and play it again, you will again feel the pain because the callus on our fingers is also gone.

Your hurt will disappear and you don't feel that if you're enjoy and have fun when playing guitar and sing a song.

I guess my first melody - song was Lambada, which I learnt from site called GuitarNick.com . It's not a spam, but honestly that's a very good source of guitar tabs for begginers and intermediate :)

Haha, thinking about the very first song that I learnt to play when started guitar brings back nostalgic memories. :) Well, I kinda learnt two songs at once, one was super simple, while the other was a classic 1970's song. The first would be the very, very easy Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, simple but great when starting guitar. the next one I learnt was Love Potion No. 9, I forgot who sang this song though. :P
