Hello mylotters. I am very interestingly waiting for the 3RD Double century in ODI cricket. Already two indians Sehwag and Sachin made this feat. Ok. Comming to the point, who do you think can break their record of double century and 219. I feel Virat Kohli has the ability to repeat it. Tell me your openion and describe how the player is capable?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes it is such a proud moment when we say that only two Indians so far have achieved such a feat and i too is looking forward to who is gonna make an entry into the two hundred ODI run club. My stakes would be obviously on Virat looking at the way he is emerging as a player but there are also many talented cricketers coming up from other countries who have potential to achieve such feat. But i would to see an Indian again to achieve such a feat again.
What say?

Ya. I will be happy if an indian make it again. But players like Dilshan, Amla, Watson has the capacity to repeat this feat. What do you thing? Can you list the players from each country who are capable to make it?

Ya may be Watson He was close to 200 once before against bangladesh where the chase was only 230 of which watson alone made 180+ and could have easily made 200 if there were more runs to chase there . Dilshan i feel he could noyt make that as he is so rashy in shot selection..Just my opinion and Amla being a players known to play big innings takes time to settlae and in cases where he played aggressively he was out quickly..

In my opinion one player having all chances and abilities to hit the 3rd double century in ODIs is David Warner of Australia who has already made 163. Both Sachin and Sehwag made these rare innings as opening batsman and Warner too has that position in batting. As Virat Kohli isn't an opening batsman, he wouldn't get sufficient time and overs to make such a big total in 50 overs.

Sure, i will agree with you. Warner is a good batsmen, but he lacks consistent. However we don't need consistancy is not required to hit 200 in one match, as player like Charls Coventry already made near to it. But Virat also already neared to it, he made 186 againist Pak and 133* againist SL in a quick time while is one of crickets best innings. I hope he will get the double in coming future.

Making double centuary is not so easy in international odi's . But i feel it would be either Virat Kohli or Brendon Mc cullum to do that one day or the other as i feel they are such player who make great impact on current days cricket.. Virat being the moct consistent player in the past 2 years or so and Mc cullum being a guy who on his day can make wonder like Sehwag did
