Books or E-Readers?

I have never used an E-Reader or read a book using an App on my phone... I also never intend to.
My opinion being, why do we need to replace a perfectly good medium that exist already? BOOKS. Real books. Any device for reading will never replace the feel and smell of a book, it will never be a portable as a book.

When would you ever read hundreds or books and why would you need to carry them all around?
These days it seems we create solutions for issues that don't really exist

well i prefer both...being a student i cant skip reading books ahh well i do love using e-readers because i guess we young generation are used to of using gadgets and all like smartphones ,kindle all these thing provide good e-reader support so instead of carrying loads of books with us .we carry lots of e-files in our mobiles and other gadgets... its simple sober to use... thats all my opinion..
thanks

There are certain books which I prefer to physically have, as in the actual book, in the case of my favorite ones. But I also prefer my ebooks whenever I travel for convenience. When waiting for my flight, or traveling, I prefer to read than to watch movies or doze off. Off course it would be way too heavy for me to carry all the books that I want to bring with me. At least with an ebook reader, I can bring with me lots of books, wider selections without the added weight.

Seems more and more people are using e books these days. Even here in Mexico. Sign of the times.

I agree that hard-copy books do appeal to me more than Kindles, Nooks and other E-options. However, there is no getting away from the fact that they are far more economical and will doubtless save a good deal of trees in our rainforests. My wife works in a library and she is worried about the impact that this relatively new medium will have on her current job. It is staggering to think how many titles can fit on to one of these devices so,because of this efficiency and their environmentally friendlier demands I fear that the humble paper-based book's days are numbered.
