I think I've mentioned I have a hot tub, my friends will remember that.
Well, yesterday the roomie's nephew and niece came and cleaned it.
It wasn't real bad, but we wanted to drain it and start over.
I got a pump to get the water out and then went to the hot tub place to get the chemicals.
Today I went out and looked, the water was lovely and clean, but the chemicals were, on the whole, too low. It was also too bright to want to be out there now, the roomie doesn't do "bright" - part of her vision problems.
So, I'm looking forward to finding my swimming suit and cooking out there again. I know it'll feel good on my sore muscles!
We had to do it this weekend or next or the city would start monitoring our water intake to determine our wastewater for the next year. They do that from mid-November to mid-March - because we won't be watering grass then - like I water the grass....

Oooh a hot tub sure sounds inviting to me, right now especially since my head even hurts as I type. I wonder if the heat would help it too as well as my sore muscles I have in my feet mostly right now. Take good care of it and it will take care of you. ![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

A few years back we were advised that if we really wanted to help the body pain, etc. we should get a heated mattress pad to put on our bed. It really does help and it does not cost a lot to run. We actually reduce the heat in the house and we use the mattress pad on the bed clear up until the weather gets hot again. Of course a hot tub on my porch would feel good as well.

So your city does this too. It helps to know when they start. I am not sure when ours starts, but the city actually comes by and puts insulation in the meter. I think I am going to come see you and enjoy your hot tub.

oh really... they monitor the water all year, but don't the waste water... probably nobody wanted to figure out a design for that or if it went bad... bad enough when the plumbers have to come out and replace the pipes!
Come on down! We've got a guest room now! (You can go home with a new kitten too!)

A hot tub? Oh lucky you.
I would have trouble maintaining such a thing but still, I've had my eye on a spa for a while. There's really no where to put it though and our water supply isd not the best...too many minerals.
However, about 2klms up the road is the Bore Bath, it's a pool with a 6" pipe that gushes gallons/litres of warm water at a rapid rate per second with a good bit of force. The water is from underground and also has the minerals in it so it has marvellous therapeutic qualities.

Looked that up and oh, that sounds nice! I've heard about mineral baths and always kind of wondered. They have been around as spas since before Roman times, think Bath in England (I gotta say that was a really cool tour my Mom and I took!)
Hot Springs AR (home of Bill Clinton) was said to be a great therapeutic spa but I think the modern people think of the German spas as the place where the more modern "medical" spas got their popularity and the wealthy went to "take the waters."

hi mstickle and Elicbxn I was just thinking wow we do have a hot springs
in our state I mean my home state.South Dakota. They had no imagination so just named the town around the hot springs, Hot Springs. The water is full of
minerals so its very therapeutic. The few times I was there I was lucky to
get a spot in there. he heat felt really good but I found that it
made you so relaxed if you wanted to swim it was just
too much effort. lo l![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

I am so jealous! I wish I had one! Good for you! Hope you have used allready!
I have once used a hot tub once so far and I loved it! I and some friends went to someone's party once. The home where the party was had a hot tub.I hope I can have the change to do that again someday!

We were out there last night. In fact, I stayed in it until the roomie got her shower before I went in for mine, I needed one anyway and had gotten my hair wet so I really needed it. I kind of wanted to go out tonight, but when I got home from a run to the store I was in so much pain I had considered detouring to the HOSPITAL...

there's a place here called ace water spa and my mother and my aunt loved it because the water is warm, some have jets, some have fountains, some are scented with herbs. i think also because they miss swimming in the river and the sea which they did a lot in their hometown.

This has jets and I got some scent to put into the water while we are soaking.
I never really like to swim in "living" water that much, probably because the lakes around here have a lakey smell, even Barton Springs pool has a smell, and its not chemicals... its got things living in it! ![](/Content/images/emotes/rofl.gif)

they're both in their '70s so i'm not surprised that they like it warm and still, clean and clear. controlled environments have their pluses!
now you have to explain to me what a "lakey" smell is. ![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

I was going to have a nice soak in the tub this morning but got a phone call in the middle of it, so the water cooled down a bit before I could lay down in it. And then, my tub isn't that comfortable anyway (standard 5' straight back tub). Sure do miss my old cast iron one I had in my previous house. Not only was it comfortable, but being cast iron, stayed warm longer.

I'm talking about the old-fashioned claw-foot tubs. I'm not sure if they make new ones any more. They do make tubs in the same style, but I'm not sure what they're made of, maybe acrylic, which cools off very quickly.

Oh that sounds sooo good right now for my little weary bones.
I can just feel how nice and warm that would be. I bet that's great for arthritis too and would make you feel like a new person..well almost.
Years ago I had a water bed and that was the best sleep I had in years because of the warmth, and it took my backaches away.

The roomie was so upset after she took her fall last year, and part of the upset was because it was a few weeks before she could get back in her water bed!
I'd love to go out tonight, I'm in a lot of pain, but the roomie doesn't want anyone out there alone... and honestly, I've taken my night pills and when they start taking affect I won't be good for much besides going to bed!
