It is amazing what kids would do , and what their parents would do for them just to go to school. I saw a show yesterday about the perils that they went through just to get to school, the thick snow, watching out for an avalanche.. walking over frozen rivers, and the ice was melting too. it was really dangerous.. i was really touched by the father's determination..

I think you are too worried about it. There are no parents in the world who don't love their children. I figure that if their children are in danger, they are the person who worried about them first. I think the reason why dare to do it is that walking over the frozen rivers or going through the thick snow are the dangerous. The parents may always be in such a situaion. Parents love their children more than you.

We didn't have to many struggles as far as getting to school. My dad was the custodian and my mom worked in the cafeteria of our elementary school and we lived across the road from the school house, so there was nothing short of a blizzard to keep us home. My mom however used to tell us stories about what they had to go through to get to school. They had to walk about two miles if the weather permitted, if not they rode to school in a mule and wagon. There was no bus that went in where my mom lived. They lived deep in the woods. My dad went through pretty much the same thing, but he quit school in the third grade and my mom quit in the ninth, so neither of my parents finished school. I guess that's why she was so determined for us to finish. They would both be proud to know that I am back in school working on my Bachelors degree.

I never liked school too much when I was younger, there were a lot of reasons why and I won't start a list but I have made sure my kids went to school every day and my older two got through high school with no problems. My youngest is still in school and was having a lot of problems, he got a couple years behind. I home schooled him for a year (that was tough!) and put him in another school where he is caught up and not having any problems like before and he loves it.

I have seen that show last night, too. I was touched on how much the father value the education of his kids that he would really cross through such condition just so his kids would go to school. But on the other hand, he could be endangering their safety as well. But gladly, nothing bad has happened to them.

Many children don't appreciate their parents no matter what they do . People now are becoming more cold. If they met something happend which is no relation whit them, they walked away and would say,"not my business." In fact, we should not blame them . Indeed it isn't their business. On the other hand, people do not dare to help others.

I know that many parents will do anything to help their children get a good education. My parents certainly made sure I did homework and attended school each day to get perfect attendance. It was important to be on time and when the roads were icy we would leave for school really early.

Many people do not really realize and appreciate the effort of their parents in sending them to school. Most of them are just taking it for granted and throwing the hardships of their parents to waste. It really drives my motivation seeing people that would do anything just to go to school, enduring struggles and even lack of basic commodities.

I see the same scenario here. Some kids would walk mountainsides, cross rivers and literally walk miles just to be able to go to school. Because of their hard lives, they can't afford to live closer to town and to schools. Sometimes they would even attend classes on an empty stomach, that's how hard it is for them but they believe that education wil help them do they can have a best future. I would let my younger siblings watch these documentaries just so they an appreciate more their situation as compared to some kids their age.
