Attended a facebook engagement yesterday!

Hi guys I wanted to share this with you all. we went to a facebook engagement yesterday. i mean this was engagement of a facebook friend of my hubby and when I went there, I saw everyone from facebook there. They were the people who are on the discussions for the Goa groups like Goa speaks, Goa Christian youth association (founded by hubby) and many other groups. The more exciting part was that all their wives were also present there and I got some good company. I met these people for the first time and i guess hubby met some of them for the first time as well and to tell you that it was fun and it did not seem at all that we are meeting for the first time..hahhaha it is crazy. I was happy to be there..
The bride to me saw me and she said she was expecting me and she knew me by my name and everything..
.. I mean I called it the facebook engagement. I tell a good time altogether and it was really fun to be there...all the people present were chosen friends of the bridegroom to be and they were more political people. He had chosen hubby to be the MC also. 
.. All one could hear was all laughter in the place because people were cracking jokes. my goodness it was fun man...
Have you experienced this ever? I mean people from mylot have met each other n gatherings but have you ever been to a engagement or marriage where all people are from some social network??

ohh, that's why you were not here yesterday.. so you had a good time. At first when i saw the topic , i was confused 
, about "facebook engagement". now what was that? okay i got it .
so ,it was all Facebook friends from Goa. Good one, even you meet your facebook friends and attend their engagement. So you people also started GCYA, not bad. But what is MC ? i didn't get it.
Are those people also from other countries who settled in India?

I do not facebook that much but hubby used to because he was making his group famous and he like politics and so he always on Goa speaks and other groups discussion. GCYA has more than 10000 members in the group on facebook. Yeah this hello whose was engaged became friends in some discussions. he is very funny and very very smart one. he is a scientist...yeah that is why i was not here yesterday because I was there in the engagement. yes it was indeed fun. No no they are Goans only but we met them for the first time. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead

No i never attended any such parties related to social network . so what do the members of GCYA do? what is it used for ?

It appears that you had a jolly good time attending an engagement ceremony of Facebook friend(s). It would definitely be a new experience for you and you and your hubby would have enjoyed yourself.
I have never been to any such party and thus there is no experience so far.

It seems that you were all enjoying your facebook engagement. Wish I could also join a gathering like that. But I'm a shy person and I think I could not socialize properly with people whom I will just meet for the first time. Hope I can also encounter a gathering like that.

These are one of the few reasons that I find Facebook to be useful, it connects people together. Actually I think this is the main idea behind Facebook, until it got so out of hand that it has become a breeding ground for bullying, bragging etc. I've never been to an event similar to this but I have friends in real life who have experienced this and I believe them when they said its so much fun!
I envy you, riya, I can just imagine how fun it would be to finally meet these people that you only see thru pictures and posts and chats, to finally hear their voices and how they speak. I'm glad though that you have so much fun, with your busy sked, you deserve a break or two.

hi rain, i understand that some people on facebook are there to brag and some to bully too. it is good when you meet genuine people and yes when you know them by their voice what they write. It was amazing to see they were so genuine. I have invited them all the inauguration on our restaurant. if all of them come the whole house will be full and i am sure they will love the second meeting like this. They are all looking forward to it and some said they will come 2 days before..hahah. yeah it was so much fun. Good break and not forgetting the food was damn tasty. .. I wish to eat such food more often. i hope that we get a cook that will cook as tasty food. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead
