I am only often invited in a church wedding. Last 2 years, I attended my sister's wediing. It was held here in L'Fisher Hotel Bacolod. There are many visitors who came in and attend. I was also to attend a church wedding. In hotel reception, there are more foods and souvenirs. We are all taking pictures especially our family. I have only 1 classmate who invited to attend wedding and gave me cup for souvenir.
How about you Mylotters?

I have been to a few weddings in my life. And then of course my own. Which was a big mistake. Now I am no fan of marriage. It might be the right thing with the right person. But marriage is a major step in life. We all should think long and hard before we make the plunge. I have had fun at some of the weddings I have ben to. And mine as well. I just wish I know what I know now.

I only attended a few. And honestly, I really got bored whenever I attend a wedding ceremony. :)

I've been to church weddings 2 times (and a non-religious official one once). We don't have too many weddings in my friend circle/family. One was like 14 years ago... oh my, was it that long ago???... I was 9 then. It was my cousin's. Unfortunately the marriage only lasted for 1,5 years... anyways, I always felt that there was something off with the guy... I mean, when I first met him at about 7 or 8, I just felt an aversion to him. maybe my hunch was right.
Then, 1,5 years ago (more or less), I went to a family friend's son's wedding... they've been together for a while now and they have a kid, so that's why they got married.
For me, attending church weddings is kind of weird, because I'm not religious, and sometimes I find the priests celebrating the wedding to... well, trying to convert people whilst celebrating, reciting parts of the Bible which have no onnection to the wedding and love... they should know that not all the people attending a church wedding are religious, they just want to share the joy of two beloved getting married. Not to say that in the latter one, the priest was the bride's father (not the family friend), and at the redception he kept touching my mom just way too much (not on the butt or something... but he's a priest, also married, for God's sake :D).
The receptions was okay. The first one was boring, the second one was okay, except for a friend of the family friend (like 30+ years older than me), who didn't wanna get off of me... he was so annoying really.
With my fiancé, we are planning to get married next autumn. We are not going to have a church wedding, because that should be for religious people... I don't understand those people who just wanna have a church wedding for the feeling and the glam, when they are not religious... it should be reserved for true believers. I'm hoping it's gonna be the best wedding ever, we've already started planning the details.

There's a lot of wedding invites because my batch is on the "marrying age". I just attended a wedding last May and I attended a wedding last November. Now, coming December, I am going to attend one of my best friends' wedding. All of those weddings were(will be) church wedding.
I just love a church wedding because everything looks solemn and the vows are really heart-warming. Not to mention the homily.
Anyhow, I just love weddings, and I am hoping that mine will be soon too.
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

As far as I remember, I have attended church wedding for once only in my twenty four years of life. That particular church wedding was my uncle's. He is my mother's youngest brother aged at about thirty nine years old now. The wedding was held pretty grand and I was amazed by what I saw during the whole wedding. I am a free thinker so attending a church wedding is something new to me. Well, if I happen to marry a Christian female then I may hold my own wedding in a church. who knows

Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I always receive at least one wedding invitation a year, and just this month alone, I already have two. I try to attend all the church weddings because these are friends, people you know from church, and I'd feel bad not attending. The ceremony itself doesn't take too long, about 40 minutes average, so I don't usually get bored. I love watching the exchanging of vows every time though, it's always so touching and sweet
