Made my first sale on Ebay!!

Yay!! I sold an item on ebay, my first. I am soooo excited! I was very apprehensive about selling on ebay, but now I'm more at ease with it. It was just 'not knowing' that made me apprehensive. I feel much better now. My first sale was a brand new pair of sunglasses. The customer's feedback was "good price, shipped quickly, very satisfied". I just put some of my art (drawings and paintings that I've done) on ebay. Not sure how those will sell since there's a ton of art on ebay, but at least I know what to expect now. I was more brave with Craig's list. We have sold a lot on it. That's different though, because I just advertised locally and the people came to our house to look through the vinyl albums. It's kinda like starting a new chapter in my life? Feels like that anyway, trying something new.

Congrats! Ebay certainly opens up a whole new consumer base for you. I have looked at some of the art posted on Ebay and there are some artists that seem to be doing very well on there. That feedback is super important too. Be sure to leave it for your buyer too. They will really appreciate it and look for you to sell other stuff. Happy Ebaying!

Thanks for the tip! I don't think I left one for him. I'm going to go leave him a nice comment now because he is a good customer.

Hi there! Congrats on your first sale! :) Personally, I love ebay. It lets you choice and really check out the items that you're planning to buy. Plus, I love the bidding there. At first, I was not so sure onto buying things on ebay. Scared that the items wont be shipped to me, but luckily, I found a great and nice seller that's easy to deal with. I hope I can get to transact with you on ebay. :) Here's to many more sales to come! Cheers!!! :)

I haven't tried the bidding part yet. I haven't bought anything from ebay yet because I've found it cheaper somewhere else but I always check on ebay. I know a lot of people who have bought on ebay, some are satisfied, some are not.

thats how i felt for a while. then i caught them chargeing me a fee every month. just 2 or 3 bucks but i figured i didnt have a lot of profit from my items since you have to sell so cheaply on there. you must be a pretty good artist to be selling art on there

There was a fee just recently that they charged me. I wrote and asked them what it was for but have not got a response yet. I'm gonna check on that now...

Hi! It really feels good to accomplish something. I am into online selling too and i have sold many since June this year. I was also holding back with selling online because it's hard to gain trust and you really can't see who is buying. But then after almost 5 months of selling online, I am getting used to it and enjoying it a lot. Good luck to us!

It's nice to have some extra cash - even if we have to use it for bills :)

congrats on your first ebay sale! Every once in a while I sell a few things. I have a bunch of collectible model horses and some of them are worth quite a bit and I've sold a few on ebay. It's always such a rush when you see people who are either bidding or watching your item. I love to use ebay and it's pretty simple to sell stuff. If your art doesn't sell on ebay, maybe try opening a "shop" on etsy. It's a site where people sell crafts and things they make themselves. A lot of the stuff is pretty neat and I'm sure you could put your art on and see how it does.

Thanks for the tip! I know about etsy, but didn't cross my mind to put my art on there.

Congrats!! Craig's List is nice if you don't mind people coming to your home to look at the items. Some people are just not comfortable with that so they will sell things more on eBay like me. I did sell to a few that came to the house though and they were very nice people. I'm happy you made your first sale on eBay though, it has been rather sloe on there for me in recent years. Just not like it used to be at all. Sad.

I've used Craig's list also. We have a lot of Vinyl albums to get rid of and some small furniture. I don't mind people coming to our home. We just keep all of it in one room so people aren't walking all over in our home.

it is always exciting when you know that someone actually appreciates all the work that you put into your art and that someone really loves what you have done. i remember the first time i sold some, i was over the moon!

Its been over a year since I sold anything on ebay. I used to sell all the time until they started adding on fees constantly and it made it not worth it to sell anything that wasent going to bring me a lot of money. I'm glad that you got good feedback that is really helpful.

Ya know, I noticed that too. I put another item on there the same way I did others and they charged me a fee when it didn't sell. It's disappointing when a company does that. I lose trust in them.

Congrats! I have sold quite of lot of things on eBay. I didn't want them but needed money for my attorney when I was going through a divorce a few years ago. It was fun to watch the price keep going up as people bid against each other and I got much more than I expected for most things. I did sell some artwork (which broke my heart!) but I like to think they went to people who would enjoy them as much as I did. eBay is a great marketplace to sell in and I, fortunately, never had a bad experience although I heard about a lot of them. I hope you sell a lot at great prices!

I put the sunglasses in the 'fixed price' section but put my art in the bidding section, with a 'buy now' price. I don't like that they charge a fee for fixed pricing and not for bidding.

Congrats on your sale. I love to search ebay for a good deal. I have found some great deals on ebay. I tried to sell on ebay once but gave up as some people just dont seem to understand that once the item leaves my hands at the post office I have no control over how long it takes for the item to reach them. I had a guy that left me negative feedback when his item arrived 10 days after the end of the sale. I could not believe that he gave me negative feedback cause it took 10 days to get to him. When I complained to ebay they informed me that there was nothing that they could do. I gave up at that time they are all about protecting the buyer and left the sellers out to hang. So now I just buy from ebay and sell on craigs list.

That's too bad that happened to you and ebay couldn't help. I think that's one reason why I was apprehensive. I wondered what would happen if I shipped the item and it took forever to get to them, or never made it.

Hey that is good. Someday I want to build enough courage to try selling on ebay. My only problem is, is getting to post office to get it in the mail, so I haven't done it yet. Congrats on getting it done and onward now to better things.

If you sell items from an online business, like a wholesaler that doesn't sell directly to the customer, they ship it for you.
