I woke up this morning and checked on the kids to see if they are already awake for school. My daughter was already sitting up in her bed..while my son is still snuggled and lying down. Which is unusual because he is someone who wakes up immediately..
i checked on him and he said that his ear hurts (he is pointing at the lower portion of his right earlobe) which i believe is mumps. I had it before when i was in third grade. i know how much it hurts too
I told hubby about this and he said how come he acquired it... ( he does not know much about it) I took our Health Encyclopedia and read some info for him lol.. and i said that is viral too.. we decided we will bring him to our pedia this morning at 9am. I do not know what medicines to put or give to him to subside the pain. Anyone here might have some ideas? he really is complaining a lot right now.

I would recommend Paracetamol for your son. Really it can serve multiple things together. It really decrease the body temperature and along with it it acts as a pain killer and other more.
Ask your child to have it after having the food at the rate of three capsules per day on morning, afternoon as well as on night. If your son don't feel anything relief by having it I would ask you to take him to doctor.
I hope he will have a speed recovery

Hi sis. You can give your son paracetamol for the pain and fever. But it is much better to bring him to his pediatrician for the right prescription. I remember before when I had that long ago, haha, my mother will put vinegar and dye. I don't get it why that so but I know vinegar has an antiseptic effect. I hope your son will be fine soon.

The doctor will give him medicine if he needs it. I really hope that it is not mumps that he has. That is very bad. My kids have had their vaccines so should never catch it. Hopefully all he has is an ear infection that is easy to treat and is not life threatening.

The doctor just confirmed that he has one right now Shaggin. But since i was able to see it right away, it might be stopped immediately given the medicines will be taken on time. He is already at home resting and hopefully he will recover fast.

It's better to bring him to his pedia for proper medication.

Paracetamol will help to ease the pain and fever. As for the mumps itself, Isoprinosine was given to me by my doctor. I had mumps when I was 25 years old. It was the worst timing ever. I had it on the day that my parents were celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary. I wasn't able to join them. My gown just got wasted.

Oh what a bummer jen! I would also be devastated too. I had it during my 3rd grade and i could not remember much of it except of the pain and i end up sleeping for like a week!

I highly recommend that you bring him to a doctor since mumps is not the same as colds where you can just have your kid drink a decongestant or paracetamol. just to be sure, pay your doctor a visit as soon as possible.

Oh dear. That is when I too had those mumps grade 3 and now I am beginning to get worried as mine were quite severe and I was down for almost 20 days. But yes, that was ages back and today I am definitely sure that medics have updated and research would have good and better medicines.
If the medics confirm them to be mumps, you can also use leaves of Neem (Azadirachta indica) - boil them and use the water for bathing, I was surrounded by these leaves even on the bed during those days to stop them from transmitting to other family members.
I also attach a image of the leaves so that you know better what it is.

hi,
when i was a kid i didn't experience to have a mumps, that is why i am aware and afraid because they said that once you have never had this mumps when you were kid you are prone to have when you grow up,that is why when i saw people who have this u gradually avoid them.you know tina the color blue powder use to make it more white clothes more whiter, mixed with vinegar then apply it to the mumps area.
