Just this morning, as I was watching the news. A mother of the murdered UST graduate asked the president to have death penalty again here in the Philippines. According to her, we should have death penalty in order to lessen the cases of murder here in our country.
Do you agree with such plea of having death penalty?

Hi,
We have tried it before and still the crime situation has not improved. I don't think criminals can be prevented by the threat of dying from lethal injection or the electric chair. The solution to the problem still eludes me so I can't offer an alternative solution either.

Matters like this would really separate my spiritual and human personality.
As with God's law, to kill is wrong and a sin. Included in the 12" thou shall not Commandments".
While my human personality says YES. As we notice, criminals don't submit to laws anymore. They keep doing it over and over because even if they get caught, if not bailable, they just live on prison lifetime where they are still feed and even guarded like very important people.
The point is, they don't worry about the consequences of what they are doing because they believe it's not harmful or deadly anyway. -.-

Well I guess it is for Congress to decide on that. Pnoy can only recommend it back but the Congress will have to deliberate that with the Senate approval as well. I think this is kind of complicated since its implementation different administration have different stand on this issue, that is why the implementation of it is not truly proven to be effective or ineffective since.
