Do you always remember how much cash you have in your purse?

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.
If I know I need money to pay for something, I usually will go to an ATM machine and withdraw some cash. I have cancelled all my credit cards because I don't like paying for the interest anymore, only enriching the unsympathetic banks. For online payment, I use a debit card.
I have this habit sometimes of going out thinking that I have cash, when I don't or I remember I don't have cash and need to make a stop at the cash machine, but I've totally forgotten about it.
One time, I entered a restaurant with my sister and ordered food and just when I was about to finish my meal, I remembered I didn't have cash. Luckily, I am a regular customer of the shop and the ATM is so close to the restaurant. I was very very embarrassed!
Just what is the minimum amount of cash should we have in our wallet or purse? Enough to pay for food at a standard restaurant, what about when we need to buy petrol? Cash is still king when you want to buy something in your local community. What you think mylotters?

That's right kokomo. I usually do not count how much exactly I have, I just roughly calculate how much I have spent and then I deduct that amount from what I initially have before spending. But there are times I lost track of how much I have spent...
Sometimes I can be very forgetful...
When I do calculate, I will dump out all the content from my wallet/ purse on a table so I can find my money (some are hidden between receipts and bills). If this happens it means that I really really am in need of money.

You should remember how much cash you have otherwise you either have too much cash or aren't careful enough with what you do have!

Hi RichardUk,
Yes, you're right.
Sometimes I remember how much I have in my wallet but sometimes I forget and that's when I get myself into trouble, very embarrassing indeed.

I'm always making sure that I have sufficient amount of cash with me before I leave the house. I had a few embarrassing incidents in the past wherein I thought I had sufficient money in my wallet. And so I had to borrow from friends to pay my bill. But The amount vary though depending on what I would be doing for that day. I still use my credit card to pay for petrol and grocery, but I always make sure to pay the full amount on the due date. There wouldn't be any interest since I didn't revolve the credit.

I usually have some kind of idea, like if I have a lot, very little or none at all, but I am not always sure of the exact amount. But yeah, there definitely have been times when I have been in situations like the ones you mentioned, so I could get better at this for sure!

Hi micha, I always remember and know how much cash I have in my wallet every time i go out because i always want to pay in cash rather than using my ATM or credit cards to avoid any hassle.
