The Character of Barack Obama

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. MLK
Barack Obama will not fail because of the color of his skin. He has failed because of the lack of character in his soul.
America made a mistake in 2008, in our zeal to move past our racial history, we allowed our eyes to be clouded by the desire to move past race and make history as we elected our first black president.
We did not look at the clues pointing to Barack Obama's character. We did not head MLKs words to judge a man by his character. Let us not compound that error by mistakenly believing, as so many do, that this election is about the color of Barack Obama's skin. It is not. Most of America has awakened to the hard cold truth of his character. We have judged him finally, by the content of his character.
What should have been a healing balm on America's past racial wounds, has become instead a festering division, a division furthered by Barack Obama's words, actions, inactions and apologies to our enemies.
Do NOT allow his lack of character, his divisive words and actions continue to divide us along those old color lines, to divide us through the aftermath of his failed presidency. Instead, let us realize that from here on out, we will judge those who wish to lead us, by character alone.

Oh Please! Mitt Romney doesn't have no shame when it comes to lying about what he stands for. He flips and flops on every issue even abortion when everyone knows where he and Ryan stands on this issue.
President Obama character is just as good as the rest of the lying varmints who call themselves politicians. I hope President Obama is reelected tonite to put this divisiveness to bed.
In my opinion if he is not reelected then nothing has changed about race relations in this country.
All they would have did was sent the butler to clean up the mess that they made in the White House, and now that the ground work has been laid they want to put someone else there where they can claim credit for the economic turnaround that is about to happen in next few months or years.

IF we aren't free to not vote for Obama because he is black, then we are just as racist as if we wouldn't vote for him because he is black. No other president would be reelected with the record on the economy that Obama has. I am so sick of the race card being pulled out every time someone disagrees with Obama. Honestly, if no one were voting on basis of race, he wouldn't stand a chance this election.

But I do like the excuse that is already formulated. The bad economy for the last four years was Bush's fault, not Obama's fault. And if someone else is elected and the economy improves, it will be because of Obama, so they never have to admit that Obama is a failure.

Maybe I'm not right but it seems to me that in 2008 it wasn't a vote concerning the racial problem, it was a vote to get rid of Bush. Obama was just the other candidate, he was too young, without much experience. And his major chance was that many voters have had enough of Bush.

Yes, your children will grow up in this great nation not be judged by the color of their skin but by content of their characters. I have no doubt about that judging from the fact that the re-election of the first American president of African descend is sealed even though GOP is fighting hard to divide the nation and its people among racial line. I agree with you that the adage of 'divide and conquer' practice by some confederate politicians is harder to realize now after this new mandate for president Obama. The politic of 'white or black' is an old school, it is no more valid in this constantly changing and yet dynamic new world order. My friend, the politic of skin color can only work in few deep southern states.

Lampar, it was/is the democrats that started the KKK, voted and filibustered the Civil Rights act, and continue to use identity politics to divide the nation into classes and races. sorry, this time you are wrong.

Unfortunately, this is not an issue that is split along party lines ... both parties are responsible for this type of behavior, and neither party is right nor are they helping their cause or the United States of America by taking this stance and making it about race. I have no problem with people liking him or disliking him, but it should be about things that are important to the country, such as his ability (or inability) to govern the nation and his stance on the issues that matter and not the color of his skin.

I find it very interesting that I could quote Martin Luther King, that I could call for judging according to character and NOT COLOR and still the liberals come to bash me.
Thank you for saying it should be about issues, not color.

Debrakcarey - Please don't thank me, because I just said what I think. I try to tell the truth, even though I might not always be correct about what I think is the truth ... people can make mistakes without being liars. I do not always agree with you, but you do make valid points, and there are some things that we do agree on, which I have absolutely no problem admitting.
STOUTjodee - I definitely would not call you a racist for not liking Obama just as I would not call a black person racist for liking him ... there are many reasons to like or dislike the man that have absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin. I think that people should definitely focus on his character, political opinions and abilities or lack thereof, because those are the only things that should be important for this country.

To me personally, it started when he was elected in did I find that the "race" card was taking place. I would have voted for Herman Cain, now that would show I'm NOT racist. What we have here with Obama is that his policies and his soul are what I don't like. Now, if you're a liberal they're turn it around and say I'm racist. I'm sure Martin Luther King is turning in his grave about now!

I wonder why you are so worry about his color, I hope nobody offended you on the subject recently. I understand that in the States there is a lot more of that kind of problems. The only thing that would solve the problem is to put it between God's hands.

Voting for Obama is like remarrying your ex. You know he can't do the job but some people will go back and vote for him again with the hope he'll be different this time. . Romney isn't much better so for so many the choice isn't character it is voting in someone who has proven he cannot do the job or one who hasn't had a chance to screw it up yet...

The truth is, it's really hard to be a`president. They too fails and forget the things they promised. They are people just like us and they have no supernatural powers to make things good. They struggled with lots of issues to face not only to themselves but most of all the country.
Who ever wins, may the American people would support him and would pray their leader would lead righteously.
