I have both landline and cell phone and there are times...like today when my cellphone doesn't work for some reason. I use my cell phone for my friends and family and the landline is for dr's and appointments. I use it for that in case my cell isn't working. Having both phones makes life easier for me. Do you have both or just one phone?

I have to have a land line telephone for my broadband Internet to work. In addition I need to have a mobile phone in case my children need to come home early. My little boy came home from school early due to having a high temperature, vomiting and a headache. I was out so the school needed to reach me on my mobile telephone.
When I was a student I had a mobile phone with one number free. That number was my mom so it was ideal for me whilst I was at university. I had to top it up once every month. I let my sister borrow it when I traveled to New Zealand when I was 29 years old.

We got rid of the land line when we had to find a way to cut expenses. I use a prepaid, and it only costs me about 10.00 a month, which is pretty cheap. If you use your phone a lot, a prepaid probably wouldn't work for you, but I only use mine rarely, so it works for me.

I'm thinking of getting a landline in the next few months for I know the benefits of having one. A backup for me cellphone if it's not available or if something's urgent or anything that the cellular phones cannot reach. Just like now that I stay at home most of the time, having a landline phone can be vital for some of my business nad personal transactions. Thanks

We use to have a land line at home but we had it disconnected last year because we seldom use it. I have two phones by the way and I use those two phones for all my personal and work communication needs.

I hate cell phones. I think they have become so overly used and infiltrated our society...that communication that means anything is gone. I have both. I 'd give my cell back in a new york instant...but figure..if my husband gets to pay for his, why cna't I have one too...I'd rather put the money elsewhere, but that isn't an option. If he'd give me $60 a month (that is his cell charge) I'd give the cell back. I=t costs $20 a month to add a line for me...so I figure..he is willing to pay for a cell, might as well take it. As if I don't he will take that $20 and spend it on his truck, so why not have it in case I need it? No body needs to be accessible 24/7/365 except maybe a doctor. But I do have a land line too..$25 a month. Only reason we have that is cause he wants to be able to use the fax machine. yeah, I know I can fax online, but I don't want to deal with scanning and he won't learn and then ther are things that even scanning won't work...so...that is why I have both. I'd end either if the reason for having them was not an issue, but sadly, they are and they aren't going away!

We had both for along time. Then realize we didn't need the land-line with all the cell phones we have in the house. We each have one. If we need the land-line we can get it hooked with our internet we have now. Thing is just depends on the use of cell phone with the costs. We need to save anywhere we can.

We have two different cell phones in our house but we haven't had a landline phone in the four and a half years that we've lived in our home. The reason that we decided to not have a landline phone is because of the fact that it was an expense that we really didn't need to have. The only time that I've found that it is difficult to not have a landline is during those times when our power has been out so I can't charge the phone. But that isn't even really a problem because I do have a car charger for my phone.

Being connected to your family and friends has never been easier without these forms of communication. And the fastest way that we could reach out to them is with the use of the landline phones and cellphones. So I guess, a lot of people has both.

You are right both phone means life easy and I think lane line phone is also necessary because some time no coverage or battery down of mobile then lane line phone is helpful.

I only have a cell phone because we don't have telephone connections in our village. We have already applied for connections but it seems that the telephone company decided not to put additional connections here because it would be a great expense for them. We decided not to pursue with our applications anymore because we are already contented with our mobile phones.

We used to have both. I had a pre-paid cell phone and we had a landline at home. It got to the point where my husband and I each had a cell phone so we eliminated the landline. I feel that we are more connected now, though someone always being able to get a hold of me can be a bit tiring, especially late at night while I'm trying to sleep. I think many people are starting to go the way of eliminating the landline if they can.

We only have a landline. I wouldn't pay all the charges for cell phone. Ofcourse I would want a nice one and it would be expensive. I don't make that many phone calls and so why have a cell. I can see the emergency side of it but that is all and we don't have an emergency very often.

Because of financial crisis, we didn't use phone anymore. We all have cellphone but at least, in case of emergency, we still have a cell phone to communicate to each other.
