Praying for our country

I noticed this happening when Obama was elected the first time and now it seems even more prevalent. On facebook and around town on church signs - "Pray for our Country" and "Jesus is in control". I have to wonder, if the other guy had won, would those same statements get made?
Yes our country is in an economic decline. It's running it's coarse, it happens periodically through history. Also, the guy in the big white house has very little control over what laws are made. If he has a Congress or Senate that oppose him, nothing gets done. This was proven the last 2 years of Clinton, the last 2 years of Bush, and now the past 2 years with Obama.
Shouldn't we be praying that our elected leaders get over their petty issues of political lines and misconceptions about others and try to work together to actually do some good for the entire country, not just their selected party?

The same statements? I don't know. I'm not religious and can't speak to how some religious people act. I do know that Romney is often crucified for being a Mormon, but I also suspect that the criticisms would have been more along the lines of:
You're stupid, America, for electing another Bush!
WTF, AmeriKKA -- dumbphuckery at its finest!
Women, guard your wombs. Romney's in da house!
And I could go on but I've been up all night and my brain is winding down.
But, seriously, it's petty if someone wants to act as if a Romney win wouldn't have jerked a reaction out of people that was harsh. It's not as if Republicans are the only party. Democrats aren't exactly lining up with olive branches. Their idea of compromise, just like Republicans, is for the other party to do what they say.
I do wish they would all try to work together. I think that won't start until we do away with only these two parties and bring in a wide assortment of parties.

Amen, serialmommy.
I seriously doubt that if the other guy was elected last night, none of the ramifications that's happening with Obama now would conspire with Romney. Everyone knows that its disrespectful and harsh. I don't understand why so much anger is being thrown at the one guy that wants nothing but for everyone to prosper. This is America. All for one, and one for all.
