Obama won the second election

United States
November 7, 2012 3:14pm CST
It was a victory yesterday for barack Obama again. He gonna be our president again for the second term. Although I am a U.S. citizen, it is shame to say that I didn't cast my vote yesterday as an election day. Most of my co - workers, I believe they did go to vote. There were controversy about this election result, but we all have to accept the fact that Obama will take on the office for another 4 years term. Hopefully our economy and everything will be changed. So, what do you think, are you please that Obama be our president once again?

I am thrilled because I think Obama will be better for people with disabilities, minorities, LGBT people, and progressive issues which matter to me. I was really scared that Romney would get elected. I was actually thinking that I would need to leave the country if Romney got elected.

Me too! I did threaten that if McCain & Palin had won, that I'd move to Canada-and that thought crossed my mind again if Romney won. My boyfriend is a Republican, but even he recognized that Romney's flip-flopping on some key issues was just too much. Hopefully we as citizens can get back to business as usual and make our country #1 again!

Hi kingparker, Why didn't you vote? I am glad Obama won. I have been job searching and hope the economy improves. However, I am disappointed that gay marriage passed in my state.

On one hand we now what things are going to be like I look at it this way they all have a con's list as to things you don't like about the canidate. The problem is the list is long for both! The person I wanted to win did not even get to be a finalist in the election but atleast a platform a person can understand.

I admit, I'm a lifelong registered Democrat but have NOT always voted straight ticket (like some people I know). Who were you interested in? I know that there were quite a lot of people running on various platforms, with probably the most well-known being Ron Paul.

I never did follow the voting in the US, I don't even vote here. I believe all politics are the same. But I heard on the radio today that he got in, and everyone in Canada (yep in Canada) commenting about it.

As a outsider,I also feel happy that Obama won the election again,he really did many good things during the past four years and for me Obama's new immigration policy was really great. By the way,I think it is really a pity that you give up your vote yesterday, because in my mind it is really sacred, you know there are so many people in the world do not have the right to vote for their president, such like me.You live in a really good country so pls cherish it.

An Obama stock market "bounce" never materialized after his re-election. Stocks, instead, fell with a thunderous thud Wednesday on news that the president, who gets low grades from investors on his business acumen, will be in charge of USA Inc. for another four years.

Thanks to an electorate that gave Obama, House Republicans and Senate Democrats a new lease on strife, the same leaders who failed last year to strike a deal on raising taxes, cutting spending and reducing the budget deficit found themselves stuck with each other through 2014.

Yes, I am pleased. My biggest concern was that if he was not reelected, Romney and his party would disassemble the healthcare plan. Under the current provisions, I will be eligible to purchase healthcare without having to lie about my preexisting condition, multiple sclerosis. Romney and Ryan were of the opinion that no one should be rejected, but you HAD to already have insurance. Considering where we were four years ago, I do see the economy is slowly coming alive. Everyone wants what we had 7 or 8 years ago, but honestly, if you look back, the signs were there. Colin Powell said it best-Obama has brought stabilization to the auto industry, and has managed to capture (and execute) three men who had done terrible things to US citizens (at both home and abroad) as well as their own people. He's begun the process of withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan. But to be honest, there was NO WAY that he could have fixed everything wrong in four years. What he has done is lay the groundwork for the next four years. We, as citizens, need to work with one another again. The last time the economy was THIS bad was during the Great Depression. And during WW2, we worked TOGETHER. I think that after this election, seeing how badly divided we are will wake folks up and teach them that we need to ALL work together to make our country great. Hopefully the majority leaders of the Senate and House aren't blowing hot air, and are willing to work across the aisle. THAT was probably the best quote from Romney during the campaign.

Yes and congratulations to Barack Obama. I hope that there wouldn't be much deviation and add interference with the current foreign policies. The economy is really standing on a fine thread and could not afford another tip of the scale. America has got to come up with better solutions to their own current unemployment rate than ending established outsourcing contracts. There's still a lot of work to be done on the current relationship with the Middle East and I hope that there will be much progress here. The tension is certainly unnecessary and I hope that the US will be able to arrive at a common ground for both sides. I hope that the bilateral agreements between China and US will continue in trade and politics. Much more in politics which is vital for all trade relations to continue smoothly and fruitful.

I'm not American, but I really wanted Obama to win. He is my favorite among the President, all over the world. I hope that Obama, looking farther here in Asia. To bolster the present of the US Armed Forces to protect our sovereignty that blatantly intrude by the Chinese coast guard and their navy.

kingparker I wanted a change and I really felt Romney would be a better leader to turn the economy around. I think that was what all the polls said too..but Obama still won. I just hope Obama learns to compromise and remember there is still support for GOP ideas as evidenced by retaining power in the HOuse..

Though I'm not a US citizen, I'm glad that Obama wins for he has another chance to continue to prove his worth. I have my brother and my Dad there in the U.S. so it concerns me. I hope he will do his best and the people concerned to avoid any further recession. Thanks

It seems like I may be the only one here that didn't want Obama to be re-elected! This is a discussion site so if you don't agree with me, I don't care. I know how Obama has not done anything good for this country. To think , he's going to destroy and control us for another 4 years. But on the bright side , he can no longer blame Bush for the financial troubles any more.

I am not a US citizent or resident so I jsut see from the outside what goes on in politics in your country. Yet in my opinion be have usually done better with democrat presidents than with republican ones. I don`t like the extreme right in my country, nor the government of the wealthy. I hope that that will not happen in the US during Obama`s next period. And I hope he is able to help his people as health and work goes.

I figure that all the people in the world are paying attention to the U.S. president election. I'm a Chinese citizen, and you should see that no matter who becomes the presdent, it is indifferent to me and our country. Each of the presidents will adopt the adverse policy to our country. We are all not pleased about it. I want the two countries could be friendly to each other. But I know as the two biggest countries in the world, it's impossible. By the way, our country will also change our chairman, and Mr. Xi will be the new chairman of our country. And we don't have election.
