I had this also for many years. Try to pay attention to your diet, are there special things you eat more of during this time? Hormones can cause cravings.
I don't remember if I finally found out what was causing it or if I just grew out of it. Rinse with hot salt water several times a day and that may shorten the
time that yo have these.

I used to be like you when I was in high school but only until I was in college that I realized the pattern. I would have mouth sore a few days before and during my period but I cant remember anymore when was the last recurrence. I dont put anything at all. I tried applying tawas but WoW, so very painful that I really cried. maybe it has something to do with hormonal changes during menstrual period coz no matter how often I would take a bath and maintain a good oral hygiene it still recur.

Yeah, one of the responses also advised the "tawas", than you for the warning. I did buy medicine, and when i apply it it hurts so much too- depending on the size of the mouth sore. But it does not work that much anymore.
Maybe it is a lifetime thing.

I am not a doctor or in any medical field but I have come to know that having mouth sore frequently is due to vitamin deficiency.
I am working graveyard shift for many years and been experiencing it too- till then I came to know that working graveyard or staying late at night will likely to drop our immune system particularly with Vitamin C.
I suggest that you try to take Vit. C - consult your doctor first although Vit. C doesn't need any prescription.

Hi lady1993,
From my experience I find that one of the main causes of frequent mouth sores or ulcers is lack of sleep. Have you been sleeping well lately? Or are you keeping late nights? If you are indeed lacking in sleep try to get more rest and you may find that your mouth sores will go away. Also remember to drink lots of water. Have a good day.

Is it a cold sore? There are medicated chap sticks that are suppose to help with sores on your lips. Zinc and taking vitamins might help. Sorry to hear that you have them every month. They probably drive you crazy I'm sure. I know they would bug me. I hope that you get more helpful suggestions here.

We are suffering mouth sores because of the heat of our body that does not being released. I watched on the television the cure for mouth sores is the "dactarin oral gel". It is a gel and it can be purchased over the counter. You can use also the "tawas" if you are aware on that.

A very good cure for mouth sores is an herb named golden seal. You can get it at the health food store in bulk. It is gold in color and very bitter. If you moisten your finger and get alittle on it and then put that on the sore it will go away in a few days. It is great stuff but tastes terrible so you don't want to lick you lips or touch the sore when you have it on there.
