Either You Love it or You Don't

I cannot believe there are people who hate writing so much. When I was in college, some of my classmates always complain whenever our creative writing professor told us to compose a poem or write a flash fiction. I so love writing and for me this is my stress reliever. Through it, I can journey beyond the universe, meet great people in my day dream and I can also share my anger, happiness and despair especially when I have no one to talk to.

It so happens that people don't always have the same interests. Some love to write while others prefer to sing or dance. Perhaps, writing is after a talent. I have always loved writing but during my employment years I never did get a chance to make use of my writing skills. Now I am into writing again though I am not free to put my own thoughts since I am controlled by specific keywords. However, I am trying to make good with my writing until I am able to do my own blogs.

I love to write, but I do not like being told what, how, and when to write. I do not like to follow specific rules, write a certain length, and have it done in a certain amount of time. When I write, I want to just write. Just go, relieve stress, take my mind to a new place. College papers are different that creative writing. And I do not like all the editing and revising. I hate that part actually. I like to write when I am ready, and write what I want to write about; not when the teacher is ready and what they want to read about. It's just two different kinds of writing. And the pressure of being judged, sometimes people who write for their own benefit do not like that.

Remembering back then, I was not really writing. I create articles just to go with our creative writing subject and to please my professor too. Sometimes, it makes me feel stressed because I have to think for new composition for our class, and there was a time that our professor required us to compose at least 5 articles to pass the semester. I was very devastated, but after finishing that subject, I felt blessed. Because of my professor, I learned that writing is a very enjoyable hobby. It's because you can express everything you want and you can also share everything you know. I may not be a good writer but I'm trying to learn more about writing.

Hi Valorieesquilona! I must agree with you in one way. For the most part I think people either love or hate writing. I like writing the things I want to write, for sure! But then it becomes difficult to only write the things that I have to write since I am a freelance writer!

You're right. Some people don't like to write. Maybe because they feel that it's a task or something. But for me, even if your not that artistic or imaginative when it comes to writing, I think that it would be best if you write from your heart. Write what you feel I say. Because with that, words and writing comes easily. No pressure, no distractions, no fear and no limitations when you use your feelings when writing.
I mean, I'm not that creative, but I sure use my feelings when I write. Words flow naturally for me thus making writing more easy for me :)

I guess not all of us are good in writing, and probably some are really bad at it and got frustrated about it, making them hate it so much. It's not that easy for some to put thoughts into words, let alone construct coherent paragraphs about it. I guess it's just like math. Either you hate it or you love it

not everybody share the same interests as anybody else. if you like writing so much, it's not surprising that other people don't like it as much as you do. well, they would be thinking the same way as you do over another interest.
i like reading, but i don't know how i feel about writing. probably i'd rather read what someone else has written.
oh, and welcome to mylot.
