Yeah I do accept that there are sites which are doing like this and going scam. However, Please don't think in negative way always. There are good sites too. The site which I work everyday go for maintenance often. They'l have to go for it If you think technically because they maintain 4 million customer Accounts. Nobody can update patches or taking the backup while running the sites. Sometimes we should also think from their point of view. Yeah, I accept that it is good If they post this with an explanation.

yes maybe there are- but why cant they put a message on maint. page? Most site do that.

Scam site owners may not think that is necessary to explain to you, after all, you are already being tricked/scammed, rather than wasting time and energy to clear thing up for its members. Another method they like to use is making unfounded claim that you registered for multiple accounts, and violated their rule. Then have your account banned or deleted from their server without any possible further contact from you. a dozen ways scammer can use to cheat you.
