And when you thought that this issue has been buried.
From gmanetwork, I've read that Senator Tito Sotto is being charged for allegedly plagiarizing works of 3 US-based bloggers in his speeches for the RH bill. These complaints were filed before the Philippine Senate Ethics Committee.
What are your views on this? Why did they take so long to file complaints? Should they have done this? What can happen if this case pushes through? Any predictions on Sotto's reaction to this? :D

THE SENATOR SHOULD HAVE RESIGN RIGHT THERE! I am ashamed of him! for not acknowledging his mistakes! while Other World leaders like a president resigns over plagiarism issues, he stood there making a food of himself. a shame on my alma mater! they shouldn't stop, he want to go this far as destroying his reputation even deeper. the issue shouldn't DIE in the first place!

Correct Letran. If i were the senator, i would have resigned when i was already being barraged with complaints.
It's so shameful to be known for delivering speeches copied from the internet. It only goes to say, he doesn't have a bright mind to do his own speech.

I could have agreed on this but I think Filipinos do not think that resignation is an honorable thing to do in our culture.
I have witnessed a few ones and it took them a long time to decide to resign from their position hoping to find some ways to get through with the issues without resorting to resignation. Resignation is the very last option they can do.

Exactly! Tito Sotto must resign from his post as a Senator of the Philippines if ever their a bit of conscience left on his head(not reputation because he has no good reputation). Shame on him for not even apologizing for his mistakes of plagiarism and have the courage to do it again.
Or maybe, he is contemplating to do it again in his resignation speech, LOL!

i hope this happens to kick off the senator form high horse! And to teach these senators that we do not appreciate some substandard service in our government! No wonder we are kinda being the laughingstock.
I have an evil eye that tells me that this will be brushed off by the senator and he cry embarrassment. and he shoudl be harreashed1 This is for all the politicians who tihnk they could always get away with their childish antis. Then again, if its the Ethics committee, kingdom might come and they might still not be heard. at least, no one's biting anything the senator's words now.

I do not know but I think it is election time and everybody's busy posturing for those planning for re-election in the senate. So I guess the complainant will have to wait maybe until after the election before the senate might act on it at all or worst will be forgotten when the next senate resumes back.

Well, if I am the author of those blog sites, I will definitely do the same! In that way, issues regarding Senator Tito Sotto's plagiarism act will truly be documented that indeed it is really true and he deserves to face consequences of his actions....it's so embarrassing to think that our dear senator doesn't have a competent staff who would be writing his speech and not merely be copying works of other people!

I hope they will really pursue it but it won't reflect to us as a Filipino. He is really a big shame to our nation as the Senate is becoming Skul Bukol.

All this issues on plagiarism would have been avoided if only Tito Sotto apologized for using the blogs in his speeches regarding the RH Bill. In fact, his only mistake was to hire lazy speech writers who copied the blogs thinking that since it is the internet they are free to use anything posted. His speech writers should know better and they should have made an extensive research without quoting word for word a blog without even giving due respect to the writer. It is as easy as simply stating that said words were actually lifted from an article from the web. It was only an apology from the senator which they were asking for but he was too arrogant to do so. He thinks he is being bullied online and this will be the same reaction if the case pushes through.

I don't think that the senate have time for this complaint because as far as we can see all eyes are now focus on the coming election next years. Hope this issue will not be buried from tons of election issues. Sotto with his "KAPALMUKS" will just brush this off and brand this as some sort of "e-HARRASSMENT".

We will have to see what the reaction of the senate regarding this issue. It has been observed that the Senate in general has been very silent about this issue since it began. I think it was only Sen. Santiago and besides her everybody does not have any reaction to this plagiarism issue on Sen. Sotto speech.
