I know it has been released a while now but I have just finished the illistrated version I wanted to read the book before watching the movie and I found the book fantastic even though it took me a little while to get into it and well I am not a huge Tom Hanks fan so wonder if he could possibly do the book justice in the movie anyone who has seen the movie and read the book feed back would be appreciated of your thoughts. AND do you think there is more truth than fiction to this amazing story??

Loupee - I too think the book was fantastic. While it is a book of fiction it is a rather interesting concept and why couldn't it be true??? Was Jesus that pure to never had a relationship with a woman? How do we know for sure that he never was the father of a child and therefore his bloodline still exist - I mean that thought is mindblowing! Think of chinese whispers (where someone whispers a sentence to one person who then whispers it to someone else and at the end of numerous people the sentence has changed somewhat to what the person said) - why couldn't the stories of the bible and jesus be the same? Passed down from generation to generation with little written record - surely some aspects of the story would have changed??? Perhaps him being married or having a relationship didn't suit the morals of the time and so the story changed? That could be possible right? Every story has two sides to it and the bible is only telling us one side - would love to know the "other side". Sorry if I am not making sense and I apologise if you are religious and find my musings offensive - that is not my intention. Like the old saying goes "truth is stranger than fiction".

PS. I don't like Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon either - to me when I read the book I truly thought Harrison Ford or George Clooney would fit the character better. Tom Hanks looked weird with that hair I thought. Sorry Tom!
