Do you know the difference between casting & forging

Hi,We are always use some products made by casting and forging in our daily life. Do you know them? And do you know what's the difference between them? casting is the process where metal is heated until molten. while in the molten or liquid state it is poured into a mold or vessel to creat a desired shape.
Forging is the application of thermal and mechanical energy to steel billets or ingots to cause the material to change shape while in a solid state.Hi,after my introduce who can tell me which kinds of things are made by casting and which ones are made by forging.

Thanks for your detailed information. And now i have known the difference between them. In our daily life, so many things are casting parts, like machine tool base, slide base and so on. And for the forging, like small screws and big sheet metal and so on.
