Is that in the Bible?
As far as I understand things, there will always be two religions, the true and the false, until God removes the false and only the true will exist.

Hi stary1! What is your view of the Bible? Someone once told me that it's like finding a needle in a a haystack. But then he said that if you have a powerful magnet then it is not so hard. Could the Bible be the powerful magnet?
The Bible predicts that all false religion, called Babylon the great will soon be removed. If God wants something done then He will do it.

There are so many religions it is hard to decide who is true and who is false. I think perhaps different religions are made for different cultures and it's just that within each there is truth. I think there are man made rules used for control of the people...

Hi 1hopefulman greetings. Thanks for the response, as always. Is that in the Bible you asked? Well, you can judge my thoughts in reading my response to JER616.

I would not accept it. There does not need to a one world religion because no dictator would ever pick Christianity to be that religion. Besides, its not about religion, its about a relationship. I know that many churches might be forced to go underground but I would stand up for my faith. I may die because of it but I don't care. I would not deny Jesus!

@gitfiddleplayer: Do you know that the term "religion" comes from "religare" meaning "to restrain, tie back"? Could it be that the religion you despise is really the same thing that you espouse as "relationship with God"?

Hi gitfiddleplayer greetings. Yes of course, " but whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven" (Mat.10:33).
May God bless us all.

I'd assassinate him or die in the attempt. Whatever religion he pushed.

mangatony, I consider Revelations to be the ramblings of a psychotic, so I'm afraid I won't be reading it again any time soon - say in the next twenty years, by which time my ashes will be scattered over my garden without benefit of any clergy.

Hi grandpa-lash, Forever-The Lamb and 3honor, greetings. My admiration for your exceptional courage.
While this is just a theoretical discussion, please allow me to cite a scenario for this purpose. One a super world dictator or as the the book of Revelation 13 called the "Beast" (please read). I believe, this is where many lives will be sacrificed for the sake of one's faith and conviction.

That would have been a great idea but it is impossible. There is no unity in the interpretation of the Bible. There are those who believe in the Old Testament only and those who believe in both Old and New Testament. I guess, they will fight for their beliefs. For me, I will stick to what I believe.

In our place there are lots of religious groups and they have different interpretations of the Bible. That I why I thought it would be impossible. But if there will be great change that will unite us into one religion then why not? I'll be looking forward to it.

Hi pahak627 greetings. In other words pahak627, you might as well submit to it especially when the super world dictator will rule for the good of all concerned.
Impossible? that remain to be seen. May God hasten that blessed day. Cheers.

Hi aidalily greetings. What if, in the process you begin to see the goodness of the person and his explanation of the enforced new religion is just as very unique and differently beautiful as it totally fits the teachings of the bible, will you not rather changed your mind? Just asking.
Have a nice day.

I think it's impossible cause our religion is everything to us. In religion there lay our beliefs, our faith, our direction in life, our culture, ourselves and it's everything to ones life. If you can simply change your religion, means that you not been truth to the whole of your life. You've been untruthful to yourself and others for the whole of your pass life. Religion is not like a citizenship or something we can easily change. You are changing yourself when you change religion.
But some people have gone through serious life experience and life understanding, some has gone through deep study and thinking in comparing the good and bad of one religion compare to his one. If your logical mind can say that the new religion is better and correct compare to the one that you beliefs, but your heart maybe won't accept it because why, because religion is everything of yourself. Unless you don't practice what religion though you to do and avoid, then when your logical mind think of other religion is good, then your heart will accept it because heart is central controller of yourself. Then if it's proven that your religion is not bringing the good faith compare to the one that you found to be the truth religion, then as I said before, you've been untruthful in your pass life and in the sin. But your are fresh back like a baby in your new religion free from sin.
Think it this way, why people needs religion? Why must change religion? Because human needs something to beliefs in life so that they have good guidance to go through their life with better living. Because human needs something to hope to when they in needs. Because human needs to pay back the creator.

You are very right challs12. Most people can stand the taking away of their cherished possessions but not with their cherished faith and religion. They are even willing to die for it just in case.
Greetings and have a great day.

I don't think one world religion would work. There are too many people that love their own religion too much to change. How could someone change what everyone believes? One might possibly change their religion to appease a ruler and to save them self from persecution, but they would hold their own beliefs in their own heart.

Hi mzz663 greetings. Yes I agree with you. Just like the other churches today where they are not allowed to practice their religion. They will do it unnoticed and underground to hold on to their faith and conviction.

Hi sid556 greetings. Yes, and you are not the only who responded with that idea. That only means, just the thought of a dictator is already a nightmare. How much more if it concerns our faith and religion.
Have a nice great day.

Since no religion really understands God, one world religion would be very bad. God would never allow that to happen. It would defeat the purpose of this world. The diversity of religions is important because through interaction it brings different views and ideas into light. This in time will lead the world to God. Sure there will be lots and lots of Drama, however drama is often where most of the Learning takes place.

Hi bird123 greetings. Your comment is most certainly welcome. Although,
I am just wondering where these dramas will lead us. Christianity started with one united church. Two thousand years had pass, Christianity today has "10001" differing sects and denominations. Don't you think it is high time for God to intervene?
But as the saying goes, "It is darkest before dawn". I believe, before God finally intervene, the BEAST of Revelation 13 or one super world dictator will rise first, to test all those that dwell on this earth (Rev.3:10).
All the best.

The only thing we control is our thoughts, so no matter what a dictator would want to enforce, the hearts and minds of people would retain what their free will dictates..
We have witnessed this truth throughout the history of brutal dictators..

It would enforce the theory that religion is a police force in disguise.

Hi rjshultz68 greetings. I believe aside from the supernatural powers of the super world dictator (the Beast of Revelation 13), he will openly used police or military force.
Have a great nice day.

I would hope that the super world dictator would choose Agnosticism, aka, having a lack of religion, as the one-world-religion. That's sort of how they do it already, lets not let religion take over how we learn and study, lets just focus on what's real and tangible.
