Cookies

Can't say as I like pumpkin anything...but I do like baking cookies. I don't much anymore as with the kids gone...I will eat them all myself! But back in the day..I baked all the time. Never bought store bought cookies..they are so gross so it isn't like I was missing anything! but I had my kids into it to and at christmas time...boy did I bake. I used to bake a huge tray/basket of cookies and breads (about 12 different kinds of cookies and 6 breads...per tray) and give to my siblings for christmas gifts...everyone loved them. I'd start my "list" in October and go through my books for new things as well as everyones favorites...I'd list the cookies/breads I wanted to bake...then make another list of when to bake them (some could be whipped up and the dough frozen others were last minute ones) and I'd list on the calender when to make which cookie/bread. Then I'd go through and make a shopping list of ingredients I'd need. THEN..... the Saturday after thanksgiving...I'd start baking..I'd mix the dough for the cookies that the dough could frozen and then follow my calender list to bake on weekends...I worked full time so it was just weekends I could do anything and I had it down to a science! It was alot of fun and I sure enjoyed it .....and sure do miss it!

My daughter really likes to cook and bake as well. However, this really isn't something that the two of us do together on a regular basis. The reason that we don't tend to bake together is because of the fact that both my mother and my mother-in-law are very good bakers and I'm not so good at it. Kathryn has been baking with her grandmother's since she was able to stand up at the table and this is something that she really enjoys being able to share with her grandmothers. I wouldn't want to impose on their little bit of private shared time.

Yummm.. pumpkin cookies.. I never ate pumpking cookies. I bet they are delish! That is certainly a great mother and daughter activity.

I hope that you got time to make the cookies. I love cookies and I love anything pumpkin. Thats really nice of you to share them with others. I made a batch of the pumpkin chai spice cookies a few weeks ago and usually I share everything like that with my parent and sister and her kids but I couldnt share lol I let my kids have them of course but kept the rest and ate them all myself haha.

We get pumpkins very cheap here in Mexico. Id love to try your recipe. i also bake cookie share to sell in my internet cafe. Can you share your mother in laws recipe with me?
