The top supplements that our body really needs according to an article I've read on Yahoo are vitamin E, omega 3, multivitamins, folic acid, calcium, acai berries and selenium. And supplements being mentioned are good for our body because it will lower the risks of having eye, heart disease and memory problems. :)

And protein for people like me: I'm an athlete and an army soldier. Protein and calcium are my main ingredients. Protein for the muscle, of course. And calcium because I have serious damage to my bones, and I need the calcium to recover and perform.

But what was the name of that article you read? I would love to check it out myself. Sounds very interesting, and I love to know about stuff like that. I'm always looking for better ways to improve myself.

I like to take a good multivitamin and fish oil. I've never heard of our body needing acai berries and I've never looked into selenium. I have read several articles about the benefits of acai berries though but never considered them a necessity. Maybe they have even more health benefits then I thought. I'm really surprised fish oil is not on that list. They're many benefits to taking fish oil capsules.
I think some of the supplements we choose should very from person to person. Someone with high cholesterol, blood pressure, and stress levels might want to look into supplements that cater to those needs. At one point I was taking an acai berry supplement because I was fighting off a somewhat serious illness and my doctor said it would help strengthen my immune system.

Well, I fully agree with you that our body, for their own welfare needs vitamins. You mentioned the Vitamin E, but I do not neglect the Vitamin C, it is written many volumes of doctors that it is good.
Now I am not a expert, I rely only on "hearsay" or articles I read on magazines health.

multivitamins is not a vitamin but a mix of different vitamins. There are vitamins the body can not store/save like Vit. c. Too much you will pee out so it's only interesting if you have a bladder infection. In multivitamins you will find all the vit. you just mentioned. BTW these are not the first one need. It's impossible to get calcium out of food if you have a lack of vit. D(3). You also need iron and iodine. Not only to stay healthy but also to be able to get vit/minerals out of food, keep them in your body or use them in the right way. Seems to me this article skipped the most important supplement. BTW supplements are seldom needed if you eat normal (you don't even need to overdue it), go outside in the daylight/sun (vit D) and take less toxi food/drinks. Only if you are sick, use medication, etc supplements can be of a great help.
