Do you have any saving challanges?
There is a website I've been reading and they are running a thread titles Saving Challanges and people are posting how much they want to save, how much they have saved and people are supporting each other and helping each other to save, give everyone new ideas on how ot save
IE
Someone is going to save all the £2 coins they get given. Someone else is going ot make there daughter packed lunches instead of paying for a school dinner.
People have been posting how much they have saved and how much they hope ot save by a certain date either for this christmas/next christmas/ holidays etc.
My saving was to change my pay out on mylot and try and meet it by a certain date, supprise hubby when a big amount goes into the paypal account. Haven't got very far so going ot try and write out a mylot plan and set myself small targets every day on replying to people, making new posts and comments etc. Keep saying that I shall do this and never do so I def going to make myself a PLAN OF ACTION, start it small and try and add to it everyday and keep a handwritten spreadsheet of how well I'm doing!!LOL
Do you have any saving challenges or need support ot save?

I have several ways of saving a little here and there. Like I save back all my $1 bills and change in my change purse. Then toward the end of the month I have a little bit of money saved. My grandson gets his lunches free at school so that is nice. I think we have saved over a $100 a month the last few months by not going out to get junk food the last few months. I was making good money again on here too. But I lost my notifications AGAIN. So there are some areas that could would help me to earn and save more.

Loose change sure does add up. It gets heavy to lug around though so I don't save it for very long.

I think this is vital for trying to get ahead in life! There is a saying by a radio show host here "act your wage" which a lot of people need to consider as well as they can save a lot of money if they just buckle down. I myself have a crazy goal of where I want to be by the end of 2013 so here is wishing me a lot of success with that.
How is your goal going?

I goal for 2013 is $30,000 from one set of revenue only(not real work etc) and I am fairly confident I can hit that goal with ease. I am here more to pass the time while I compile pages of financial information and write a few blog posts on economics.
When we set our mind to something we can easily accomplish the task at hand if we are willing to put in the effort and go the extra mile.

One way I save is by making lunches for my daughter. Hot lunches are expensive and sometimes not enough to eat or worse nothing she can eat is available because of allergies.
Another suggestion turn off lights and the television when they aren't needed. I know this is something that my family needs to work on now, as I have come home to see every single light on in my home. I understand safety, but I have told my husband that this is just making a higher electric bill for no good reason.

I am going to put three hundred pounds a month into a high interest bank account. The rate is 8 percent. I will add to it every month. I won't be able to withdraw any money until one year has gone past. By the end I will have a tidy sum of money.
I have worked out how much money comes in and how much money goes out. Then I have tried to reduce my spending. Going to a supermarket I only buy things on my shopping list or buy one get one free items that I wish to have.

I had to pay a lot of assessments to fix the roof on my tenant's building, which expense she will reimburse me when she buys it, but now while she is still renting, I have been making the payments. So I have had to be even more frugal than usual. But as I have only one more assessment to pay, I have just bought some nice things that I've been wanting. Even what I bought, though, will eventually result in savings. For example, I bought eCloths which are very expensive, but will save on the amount of paper towels used as well as saving on chemicals for cleaning as these eCloths clean with just water. They are wonderful cloths and will save my time and effort immediately, as well as money in the long run.

I guess this might be something that seems a little bit odd to some, but it is my own way of setting a savings challenge for myself. I have two sites that I try cash out on each and every month. Well, I set a small goal for myself for every month to make at least one penny more each month than I made the prior month.
Though I've had to use the money that I've made online for the past several months for gas and such, we are in a slightly better place now and it is my goal to use the money that I make online for the next month to finish my Christmas shopping. Then after Christmas shopping is done, I'm going to try to save my online earnings for several months so that we can do something special, and fun with the family.

The best way for me to save is to have a certain amount taken from my paycheck each month and put into a savings account. I have a little bank where I put "found money" and that adds up pretty fast, too.
Rather than saving coins, I spend them and see how long I can keep paper money. If I can keep it until payday, it goes into savings. I have sold books on Amazon and that money goes to a savings account.
There are a lot of little tricks you can do to add to savings.

I have not been good at saving at all. Never really have been. But thats a tough time for many and even our country! I dont charge things though and pay cash for extra things by saving up. I try to buy economical rather than spur of the moment for smaller unplanned things that might not seem big at first but add up after the fact.

I am thinking of starting to save. I usually save up for traveling and then spend most of the money. I really should build up a safety net in my mortgage. I am currently trying to live on a lower budget. In my home country bank accounts have all got poor interest rates. People can legally have around 5 thousand pounds in a tax free account. Getting a 3 percent interest rate on one of those is hard. People open account with a bonus rate that typically goes away after one years time. I think I should come up with some savings challenges for myself.
