Mike Brown out of Lakers

What do you think of Mike Brown being fired as Lakers coach? I'm not surprised at all 'coz it's the Lakers. If the management think you can't contribute to the team's success, then they won't hesitate to fire or trade someone (we know who they are). But personally, I think it's the wrong move. I say, they should give him at least 20 games and then decide if he should be removed or not. Defensively, they have a big problem. Plus, turnovers are way too high. Well, the move is made and we are now waiting who will they hire. As of this writing, with just an interim coach, they were able to get a win against GSW. Let's see how this will develop in the coming days.

Mike Brown is a good coach but now totally got worst overaall 1-12 including pre-season and regular season. They need a new coach Brian Shaw I guess. Phil Jackson will not be available because of his health. I hope Magic Johson or Kareem Abdul Jabbar will handle. If Derek Fisher ritires, he will be good in coaching.

Sloan has veteran experience when it comes to NBA playoffs. Let us find out soon.

You are right, Phil as a head coach will be less likely due to health concerns. Brian Shaw could be a great candidate but I prefer Jerry Sloan to be the coach. Looking into his Jazz days when he lead them to finals appearance is great. I think the pick-and-roll play will give Lakers benefit since Gasol and Howard are good p-a-r players. Nash is great deliverer of it too, when you think of his days in the suns together with Amare and/or Gortat. I agree with you that Fisher has a potential to be a coach.

I have never watched a single game they played this season but I definitely know their standing and status, and frankly I was shocked. I was not surprised at all to hear the news of Brown being fired, I mean it was obviously coming. As a fan, I would love Phil to come back, I believe every fan would, and I know that's what the rumors are now. Anyway, I do feel bad about brown but I guess it just can't be helped. The team with one of the biggest fan base needs positive news and the management saw that this move would lead to it, so I guess they know what they are doing. Let's just hope that everything turns out well for them, both the Lakers team and Mike Brown.

Phil is indeed what everyone wants but I don't know if he will accept the offer. It will take hard work if you'll be the coach (practices alone is tiresome), and with his age, that would be very difficult on his part. I have seen few of their games and what I observed is that their offense is bad because they couldn't capitalize when their star players are on the floor. Defensively too, it seems they are not well coordinated and they are outrebounded even though they are so tall. I think, change of playing system should work and not the coach immediately.

Well, I do not know who their new coach is yet but learning from my Facebook page that they just got another win against the Sacramento, makes me believe more that it really does have something to do with Mike Brown's coaching before. I read in an article before that they were having trouble with the new set up their former coach trained them and it probably is the main reason for the many defeats they have. Well, everything must work fine now, I hope.

Mike Brown was used as a scapegoat.

Well I agree with the idea that when the coach does not contribute he must leave. But as you said, coach Brown deserved a lot more games before he should be fired. But the team is under a lot of pressure to live up to high expectations. Personally I wonder why is it, that the teams are so afraid to give somebody fresh a try and in general only trade coaches over. Its sort of ridiculous.

He wasnt liked by many lakers players. But I bet it cost the lakers some good bucks to buy him out. As he said last year he wouldnt leave on his own.

I didn't know that lakers players didn't liked him, I haven't read about this. Anyway, Lakers always aims to be the best team in the NBA and they will do whatever it takes just to be on top.
