10 days of rain is better than no holiday.

I flew to Spain at the beginning of November for a 10 day holiday. I chose Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol because they have decent weather all year round, so I was certain of a sunshine holiday.
To my surprise it was raining when the plane landed, but this did not really bother me because I have seen rain in Spain many times before and it rarely lasts very long. However, it has rained almost constantly since my arrival, with the only respite being a couple of hours yesterday and today. I have still enjoyed the holiday because I love Spain, so as the title says 10 days of rain is better than no holiday at all.

Yes, 10 days of rain is better than no holiday at all. It is lovely that you love Spain. It is great that you have been to Spain many times before. I visited Turkey in the time after Christmas to enjoy the New Year. It was very cold indeed. Lots of the accommodation was closed due to us visiting out of the tourist season. Many times we felt uncomfortably cold. It was still worth us going there. I visited Italy in the half term of October with my older son and one time were out we experienced very heavy rain. We went back to the accommodation very wet indeed. I visited Belize and they said they had a cold front. Really I wondered because my country has a much colder front in January. Ha, ha. I wasn't able to go on the snorkeling trip to see seahorses to the poor weather. I managed to go on some other snorkeling trips. It was funny to visit the Maldives because the divers didn't feel the rain being in the sea.

It sounds like you are as lucky as I am. We obviously agree that a holiday is still a holiday irrespective of the weather and it is good to see that you are not deterred by it. I like the sunshine, but I have also spent holidays in Poland, Czech Republic and Russia, so I am quite capable of enjoying a holiday in any weather.
I like the reference to it not raining under the sea, I now have a wonderful picture in my mind of divers with umbrellas.

I agree with that you said. Holiday would still remain holiday even if it rains throughout the holiday. Of course, it kind of depends on what you plan to do during the holiday. For instance, if you planned to go to the beach to enjoy a little sun and sea breeze, then a rain would ruin everything for you. But if you are just going to some place indoor such as shopping malls, then a rain would not affect you that much. Still, I would prefer holiday with good weather but not the hot ones.

I did actually plan to spend a fair amount of the time on the beach and you are right that this was not possible. The lack of opportunity to lie on the beach was not sufficient reason for me not to enjoy the holiday, so I simply found other things to occupy my time.
I would have much preferred to have sunshine, but as I said earlier it was still preferable to not going on holiday.

I agree entirely and I have enjoyed my holiday. Nevertheless, beach resorts are really designed for the sunny weather and seem a much different place in the sunshine, so I intend to return when the weather is better and I can spend more time along the sea front.

Hmmm I like holiday not rain because even the rains is coming we can go with wearing the raincoat because Company or office is not closed but holiday means close and we can do the rest.

I do realise that sunshine makes a vast difference, especially to a holiday resort that is not really designed for poor weather. The photographs never look the same without that radiance that the sunshine adds and I did not even bother to take any this time.
Despite this, I still enjoyed the holiday and refuse to let the weather spoil it.
As for checking the weather forecast in advance, I have absolutely no confidence in weather reports a month ahead.
