Hiya bunnybon, Reckon that only people with enough money will go. Also sounds like you have to want to go too and be prepared to put up with any possible hassle and pushing and shoving. Ever tried getting on a Bus in Spain? Well that is how I am used to all that but I do not like going shopping then either. Here they only take out the old clothes to sell so the way I see it is its much better to go and shop when they have some kind of discount but even then they are usually sizes that are never yours either lol. Take care now and have a nice sleep in instead on Black Friday.xxx

Hiya bunnybon, You have a nice long sleep and get up really late and have a really nice breakfast too now that is a real luxury and you can imagine all those people out there in the cold while you are warm and cozy inside your house. Which do you think is better?.xxx

Okay, lets all say this together, ready? Here it goes. "F**K Black Friday." Nice!!! I am not going out on Black Friday. It is always a crazy day and people need to have their head examined to go shopping on that day. I am doing most of my shopping online. It is easy and quick and I do not have to deal with all the crazy people trampling one another.

I knew you would like that. I am doing all or at least most of my shopping online. And I will be done real quick and with no stress.

I never go out on Black Friday. I shop early when I can, and watch the sales, but it's not worth the stress and possibly my life! It gets too crazy out there for me. If I can't afford to buy certain things, then I will buy cheaper things, or make them, but I'm not going out on Black Friday.

i went one time and it saved me a bundle years ago. im a weird gift buyer. im afraid to buy way ahead for 2 reasons, they might get the same thing for themselves before xmas and they might not even like certain things by that time. i dont want to get someone anything they cant or wont use and love.

I don't buy 'way ahead just for those reasons, but I start in earnest usually around October. For adults, there's a pretty good chance they won't change their minds that fast and I just have to take a chance they won't buy it for themselves. Kids are different, but I only have one little one to buy for right now.

While some people are out buying stuff that they likely don't need, there are others who recognize the day after Thanksgiving as Buy Nothing Day. Personally, I think that being in the latter camp is a lot healthier for one's budget, sanity and, possibly, physical well-being.

I have only been to Black Friday one time with my sister in law back in 2008 and hated it because it was so crowded. I have never been before that or since then to Black Friday and i will never go again. Some yrs i was working and couldn't go ,but if i was off i seriously wouldn't go. I wouldn't want to stand in line say from 5 pm to be first in line when the doors open say midnight or 3 a.m. the next day. I wouldn't do it and i cant stand the crowds in the stores then and right now anyway don't have the budget even for the sales. One of my friends has been ordering things for Christmas from Avon and told me it's easier than going to the stores and much cheaper. So do i do Black Friday? Yes i did it one time in my life and won't do it again and only did it because my sister in law wanted to go shopping then out to lunch so i did it for her.

I wasn't even aware of Black Friday to be honest, I wonder if this is only an event in the USA. What I do find easier is that I buy Christmas presents throughout the year to keep costs down, even when on vacation I bought a few presents for Christmas to put away, so there is no big bill when it comes to Christmas.

i would do that but im afraid once i pay good money for something, by xmas time they wont need it or even care for a certain thing. and these days its more about need then just like. and yes, it probably just the USA. i hear you have a different thanksgiving time to.

i know what you mean. although we don't have black Fridays here in Canada, i know several people that do actually go down to the US for it. i wish i could but like you, i cannot afford to go shopping all at once which is why i have been doing a little bit of Christmas shopping at a time.

i was going to do that but every month when im paid i never had enough to do that. things kept popping up like surgery for me and hospital stays and surgery for my coco dog and the kids having crucial things they needed.

I am going to be doing Black Friday, but I'm not going to be shopping as much as I have in the past. I've been lucky enough to make a lot of my purchases for my children through Amazon and the gift cards that I've earned on Swagbucks so the only main thing that I'm lacking for the kids this year is their big item and that is a new bike for each of them. Well, I have a fifty dollar Wal-Mart gift card that will cover one bike and my paypal deposits that I've already gotten this month and that I'm expecting next week are going to cover the second bike for the kids. Other things will have to wait until a little bit closer to Christmas.

hello there, indeed, the feeling is different if you really have an extra money to spend with. so in this regard, better to do your best in doing your job so as to earn more. especially if you are going to attend an event as what you have stated in your post.

Hey.Clear me out regarding this black Friday.I have never heard about this.Is this a kind of shopping festival or similar stuff where you get cheap stuff and only some people are allowed to participate and have their luck.Does this come every year at a time nearing Christmas? What is the motto or meaning behind it?

Though I'm not based on the U.S. now. I really feel that I have nothing to spend for the holidays. All money will go to my obligations, rentals, bills and food stuffs. That's why, I'm looking for some ways to have an extra money to cover my petty expenses. It's really a tough situation to be in. I hope we can find a way to participate on those once in a year events. Thanks

Dont spend too much, make extra money and stop worrying because if you worry you have a chance to get sick and when you get sick you will spend money for doctor's fee and medicine. Priorities your spending and get only what you need. Me, I have no extra money, but I am not worried. I know I will get a lot of money from mylot hahaha just kidding.

I never go. I still think it will be a big year. Yes, it will probably be down, but I think also more people are determined to get good deals, therefore more people will be likely to brave the hordes. However, I am not one of them!

I've only two words for ya.... HECK NO! After hearing all the crazy stories that people have told about that day, there's nothing and I mean NOTHING out there worth my sleep time or the hassle of getting something 'cheaper than ever before' nonsense. It's like shopping on a pay day and full moon, INSANE! I'd much rather stay home and enjoy my time in my bed.... er..... sound asleep!

I participated in BF once and that was enough, what a circus!! Never again! Money is tight for everyone. I saw a suggestion on the Dollar Stretcher about a "recycled Christmas". You're not allowed to buy anything new and the item must be thoughtfully chosen. When you give the gift you can tell the recipient its history if it is interesting--for example you might want to give a child a necklace or bracelet from your own childhood or you have a funny story about what happened on the way to the thrift store where you found that perfect gift. $5 is the limit. Sounds like a great way to celebrate Christmas to me and my sister's family is doing it. Maybe you could propose it to your family and point out how much money you'll all save and how much fun it will be. I think it's a step toward getting back to the real meaning of Christmas.

that would be nice. its likely what we will do here. except for the kids in ohio, i might just make my daughter out there some jewelry again. but i will have to do some long thinking about the son out there. then, i have so many grandkids these days. its scarey

I have never been to a black friday sale but the year before last my daughter bought her wedding dress in a sale on black Friday. She really got a bargain bit both she and her GF's knew what to do look for and she got it. I do not think that I could do the sale with all the pushing and shoving. My daughter will be in Tennessee again this Thanksgiving and I expect will go out again on BF to buy a few gifts for Christmas. Christmas spending will be down in my country as well as yours plus in many other countries too. Almost every country is fighting economic problems these days and struggling to survive. I am a frugal person anyway and already bought a few gifts in the U.K. before I returned to Jamaica. But I bought little gifts in the sales. Have a happy thanksgiving. You just need to be with family

yes aftwer last year, im really afraid to go even if i had the money. its quite true that its the reason the rich get richer because they can afford to go to special sales when they are going on. not like us that only buy when we are desperate and have to pay full price.

Hi bunnybon we dont have Black Friday here in India, but then there are many festivals in the country and many a times, many shops do offer the Discounts etc. Though these days, they play with the prices - kind of increasing them and putting them on sale - so that they get the same prices even after the discount but then, they still find takers and many of them India is celebrating the festival of Diwali from 11th. So I would like to wish you and family a Happy Diwali.
