Kids say the darndest things---just after lunch a few kids were at the studio and out of the blue, one of them said:
Kid: I have a secret to tell you tita.
Me: What is it? (thinking it was something like pulling her own loose tooth)
Kid: Naay big sin akong lola. Nobody knows about this. It's a secret but I will tell you tita.
Me: (curious) What sin did your lola commit?
Kid: Nangawat siya tita.
Me: Ha? Unsa iya kawat? Manok?
Kid: No tita. It's money. That is why she disappeared and is nowhere to be found.
Me: Hala, maybe you should do your best to find your lola to see if she is okay.
Kid: We don't know where she is na.
I didn't know what to say.

Hi,
How about my six-year old girl who approached me one night and asked me her nth question: You are getting old, are you going to die soon or will you live for long?
I really have no answer to that one. It left me in the dark so I just mumbled a middle estimate: between sooner and later. I think she was satisfied with it and asked no more explanation, with the endless why's that was bound to follow, I am not up to the topic at hand.
