The speed of light versus the speed of darkness...

Ever heard so many times in your science subject about the speed of light? How fast it travels that it takes just a second to travel a billion miles? Now i have wondered if there is a speed of light, would it be possible to have the speed of dark? Will it be fast or will it be slow? I never heard of it and if you people know what speed of dark is or it's exact value, can you tell me? Thanks in advance. God Speed!

In order to create darkness, you simply remove the light source. So darkness must be the absence of light. We cannot really talk about the speed of something which is simply an absence of another source.

Darkness, then is always present. Light is the one covering the darkness so if we remove light, there is darkness which may not have speed since it is everywhere without light, but light has speed as it covers darkness. Thanks for your views, have a great day!

Well.. I think in Science there is no such thing. Because darkness is just relative to the absence of light. That why it is not measured in Science anymore. If there was such though, it would just be equal to the speed of light because like what I said, they are relative to each other.

I see, thanks for your views in this matter. Science really is not yet perfect since it does not have all the answers to some of your question. Many comments here or views that i got from asking this question varies. It will become confusing without it being in sync. But if these are researched from and will be derived from of a new theory, it may come in handy. Thanks again! Have a great day!

hello halfblood.
actually, darkness is just he absence of light. one does not coexist with the other. so you could measure the speed of darkness by measuring just how fast the light recedes. that is, how fast is the speed of light.
oh and light could not travel a billion miles in a second. the speed of light is just about over a hundred thousand miles in a second. 186,000 miles to be more specific.

Well, i stand corrected . Thanks for sharing your view. So when the light dissipates, darkness will take place which will also have speed until light will overtake it again. I see, i learned so much. Thanks and have a great day!

To me the speed of light and darkness is equal, because the speed with which light retreats parallel is the speed with which darkness approaches.

Ah yes, parallelism. Thanks for your view, even i don't know the true answer yet but with diligence, we will know soon. Thanks for your view. Have a great day!
