So I have this USB, I just copy files from my PC and all went well. After that I started copying another file but it says that my USB is right protected. The problem is my USB dont have any switch or button for it to be right protected. My friends told me that it is probably broken already. So I'm just wondering, does anyone know how to fix this kind of USB problem??? I've tried searching for software to fix it but didn't work for me. Thanks in advance!! :)

If you have a warranty or replacement slip from the store that you had purchased the USB-Flash drive, you can always secure a replacement or customer complaint about the device you had purchased. I suggest you return it to the store which you purchased it and have it fixed by a personnel there. Rather than rushing in and fixing it without more knowledge about it, it will probably ruin your driver.
Hope this helps. :D

Well, if you don't have any important files stored in your USB flash drive, well consider buying a new one. afterall, USB-Flash drives these days are not that much to buy. :D

That's a good idea, the only problem is it's warranty expired already. I bought it last year and I just use it for about 5 months. I'm just wondering if there's a way to fix it because my brother was able to fix his transcend using online repair provided by the company. In my case it's a locally branded USB and they don't provide such services. So I try searching the net for a way to fix mine but sadly, I failed. haha XD

I think the problem came because of some virus infections. You can scan and fix it with any AV software

Nope, not working with me. I've try scanning it lots of time already and the problem still remain. I just like to try fixing it if ever there is still a way but it's fine with me if it's really unfix-able. :)

You should be able to format the drive, which should remove write protection along with all the files that you have already put on it. Put the disk in the USB port and start your computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt. If you are unsure how to do this then press F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting and then select Safe Mode with Command Prompt when the Boot Options screen appears.
Assuming that your flash drive is G for example, type:
C:\windows\system32G: and press enter, then type:
G:\format G: and press enter. If you are prompted with Y/N, press the Y key and then enter. This should now format your flash drive and remove the problem.

I've tried this one too but it doesn't work. The right protected error message still appear even in safe mode.. _
