oregano as a remedy?

My 4months old is currently suffering from colds and now he also has cough. I don't want to give him medicines because I don't want him to rely on chemical medicines. Does anyone of you dear mylotter experince giving oregano to infant? Is Oregano safe for babies?
Because my daughter Oregano works for her whenever she has colds and cough she just takes oregano it will go away.
If oregano won't work for babies what would you suggest the natural ways to lessen the congestion of cold and to stop cough?

Yes oregano is a good herbal medicine.But since your child is only 4 months old just give an small amount of its extracted juice.God bless your son with good health always..

Thanks jazzyme for the information. What you think how many times will I give him in a day? I am too scared to give the dosage 3x a day he he. I'll try it now because my baby got cough right now but it was not a sticky cough it's like he just cough to lossen the phlegm in his throat.
I was just worried because money is tight right now to have serious health problem specially for babies. ^_^

Well, that oregano is a remedy for aches brought by bad weather, I'm sorry but this is the first time I hear to say.
Maybe it works, I can not deny one thing that I have ever experienced!
But, I can know how you discovered this remedy and especially by whom it has been suggested you?
I only know that oregano is put on foods to enhance their flavor, I did not know that it had also therapeutic functions.

Yes oregano in some other country uses that for pizzas for extra flavoring but here in our country it is one of herbal plant here. It cures cold,cough. but it was tested on adults and childrens but what I did not know is if it is also good for babies ^_^

Mexicans use oregano for many illness like colds. But Im really not sure about it for babies.

Thanks for the response mariaperalta. Here in our country we also use oregano but I am not too sure if this also work for babies. sigh
