Hi Y'all
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and am pretty happy with it, but I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 8. I wanted some feedback from those who have made the change by computer or cell/tablet. It seems to be getting good reviews from what I read, but I want a hands on account.

Windows 8 well, it can make your monitor act like an Ipad , you know like a touch screen computer, Though you can still use mouse and keyboard if you are not into tablets. There are rumors that you cant play pirated games on it but I am not sure if its true. Windows 8 have this new feature called Metro, Before you get to your desktop Windows, you will be in the Metro, the metro is like an ipad with lots of apps. If you are into ipad like apps on your pc, then windows 8 is for you.

I think it would take some time for you to adjust with W8. When logged in, the first window is of start button. You might be knowing that there is no start button on the taskbar. Othewise, its the best windows for touch, laptops and all other devices......

I am not sure if I will go for Windows 8 or convert for Mcintosh, there is a part of me that is weary of windows due to errors and viruses but I am not completely familiar with Mcintosh, Then I find my self uncomfortable with the Metro feature.

I have not yet bought the upgrade but I have been using Windows 8 for several months now. I started with the Windows 8 Preview and then changed to Windows 8 Evaluation Copy. It took a few days to accustom myself to the new interface but it was not a problem and I am extremely happy the operating system.
My monitor is not a touchscreen and I have no intention of purchasing a touchscreen in the near future due to the high price of a decent sized one, although this has presented no issues and works just fine with a traditional mouse and keyboard.

Windows 8 is a very good operating system and a decent upgrade, so it is certainly worth considering. Microsoft have currently got a promotional offer for anyone who wishes to upgrade to Windows 8, which will remain in force until January 31st. Naturally it would be sensible to make a decision prior to that time because the increase in price from that date is likely to be quite significant.

windows 8 is a system almost new considering past versions of the microsoft os i tried the consumer preview of windows 8 and it seemed to me quite ok especially it seemed a bit faster than traditional windows os...naturally many features use the touch experience so considering not many desktop and laptop are like this you can try with a multitouch trackball for these kind of gestures and it sounds not bad!
