I don't really understand know how people see the word Date or what they think about it is. My knowledge of Dating is that when you and a girl are alone either for a lunch or dinner. I don't really understand; when I tell a girl that we should go for a walk is that a Date? I don't know the perspective people view the word Date?

I think in the older times, when there was a rite for dating and courting, it meant dinner. But nowadays it means whatever the guy invited the girl for (or vica versa, these days :D), if it has a romantic motivation to it. So my first date eith my boyfriend was a theatre date. If we only counted eating at a proper place as a date, our first date was three month later :P. Especially in my country, people nowadays don't have that much money... maybe for the first date they can pay for a dinner, but that's not that common, either... they usually go for a drink/coffee instead or go for a walk. They choose less cost-effective programmes. For me, if I see that a guy is feeling something for me, and invited me for a program, it's a date.

I usually go out with guy friends to eat outside but i wouldn't actually consider it as a date because we talked about random staffs including their girls! so I would consider it as a date if the guy is not my friend and he asks me out. And how can you consider eating out with a guy when you pay for your own food? ;)
