I know one thing dogs show very loyalty & grateful to his owner But cats are not like that, They sound selfish.::P May be you don't agree with me. However I love both dogs and cats. :)

I have two cats and both are very special in every way and i find them loyal compare to my lazy dog all what it want is food and after it will go and sleep... people are coming in the yard and it is very worthless it will not make a sound or do anything at all but my cats will run an jump on my foot... my cats are every thing my dog is not...

My cat is getting more cuddly.. its because its getting cold and he now wants lots of attention unlike the summer when he wants to od just his own thing!
Cats are easier as you can just put them out in the summer if you want to go out for a day, dogs you have ot make more arrangments so they are well looked after
I also love both cats and dogs

All animals has different characteristics yet all of it has its own ways how to share its affinity to their master. We are more convinced that dogs are man's best friend, yet we did not like the characteristics of most cats, because it keeps on changing its dwellings and thereby not understood by its master, yet cats also has its abilities domesticated as the dog was to its master.

I agree in some manner- since I have a cat who went missing, but return after a year.
Unlike with dogs, they never left and always keep on guard even if we're not at home.

hi shilran,
I have 5 dogs and I don't know the latest count on my cats as two of them gave birth a week ago. My male cats will stow away of they want to have partner but they keep on coming back to me most of my cat return home and chooses to have their last breath at my place.
Maybe dogs are more loyal but cats are sweet too...
Welcome to mylot
keep on posting

is it, i don't know about that, as i don't have a cat. I thought all animals and birds show the same love when they are with us. This is new to me.

humm, maybe i do and maybe i dont. Thing is i never own a dog in my life but plenty of cats. I love cats as their love is very special they have their own unique way of showing their love towards the person who is raising them, they sure demand lot of things like place to sleep and they dont pamper you and make you feel like you are their "master" but i just love their attitude that shows that they treat u as their equal not as their superior and they are just damn beautiful i mean my cat who is called sona, meaning gold in hindi is the single most beautiful thing i have ever seen in my entire life yet, and our whole family adores her and treats her like a little princess that she is. i dont admit that she is self-absorbed and everything but what kind of loyalty can a cat offer, they can offer love and they do offer plenty of them and i for one, say they love their owner. We dont need loyalty we just need love and its love that is more superior than loyalty i guess
