Has anyone heard of mystery shopping? In this task you will be asked to visit a specific store, try their items, see how the store operates, rate them and get paid. I recently joined some sites and still waiting for a call. I was wondering if somebody did this in the past and got paid?

I have been doing this about once a week for a few months now through MarketForce. I don't understand the waiting for a call. I login to the company's website and am able to choose assignments and sign up that way. It's only if no one has signed up for an assignment and the deadline is near that I get a call from them (usually offering higher pay since they are desperate to complete their contract). I didn't get calls until I had successfully completed a few shops with them.
It is a nice side-gig. I DO get paid through checks, though I have the option of direct deposit.
Sometimes I have to wait a few weeks to get paid, since they have to confirm the accuracy of the reports with the clients before being able to pay me.
Also, make sure you read the instructions of your assignment thoroughly (though you don't need to print them and waste paper...there is a lot of paper!) If you don't follow specific instructions, your shop may be invalidated and you won't get paid or reimbursed.
But, yes I have been paid. It is not a scam!

Hi..I'm active at Marketforce too. They are good paying company and always on time sometimes they pay in advance too. I just got paid yesterday for $136. I didn't do much assignments last month though. I have to cancel some assignments due to some emergency. Its not bad specially if you like to go shopping.

Marketforce? I've never heard of them. I've done a few mystery shops some years ago and I'm trying to decide if I want to try to start up again. Thanks for the tip, I'll look into Marketforce.

High-five MarketForce coworker! :)
I am really happy that I started doing it. Other than the income, it is kinda fun to do assignments and go to new places. :)
I also feel cool being "undercover" and all... lol

Ive been doing mystery shopping for 5 months and every month I am earning almost 200 dollar for 2 companies I have joined. However, I chose not to do assignments for this Month but rather stay at home and enjoy my vacation. Its not bad. I used my earning to pay my credit card.

Those are very impressive numbers.
Is Marketforce one of the companies you work for?

Mystery shopping really is a fun and unique way to earn a few extra dollars a month. I've done a couple of mystery shops and when you find a legitimate company to work with, they stand by their promise.
I had one strange experience with a shop a few years back. It was a restaurant shop and when I got to the place, it had closed down. I tried to convince this to the mystery shop company but I don't think they understood.
I don't know how hard it is to understand - the restaurant was no longer opened for business.
But anyway, that was the exception to the rule.
Do a little homework, check it out and maybe give it a try. You may enjoy it.

I did one mystery shopping assignment a long time ago and I did get paid for it. In fact, it was something that I really enjoyed. The reason that I didn't do any further assignments at that time was because of the fact that my daughter was very small at the time and I wasn't able to take her with me on the assignments.
More recently my younger sister has been doing several secret shopping assignments through a variety of different companies and she hasn't had any kind of problems with them.
It is actually because of her positive experiences that I'm going to start doing secret shopping again, I've just been waiting for things in my life to settle down just a little bit.

Just be careful as this industry is filled with many fake people and also scams.
