Are we living in the end times?

I read somewhere that some of the believers think that there is a Bible code that shows Obama is the last president for the U.S. Also when we read in the Bible that the end times are similar to the times when Noah was alive, we can see parallels to that time. The Mayan calendar is said to end in December of this year. Are people today greedier, more self-centered, taking care of themselves before others, and disobedient to those in authority? Is this enough proof to determine that time as we know it is about to end?

Yes, it is exciting to read the Bible and it reads the same, if you will, as the headlines! I do believe it is the last days and I see the exploits of G-d becoming greater as the darkness covers the earth! I know that the last days come for some people each day when they are in fatal accidents and leave their earthly bodies behind. I'm glad I'm ready for whichever occurence should come first!

Hi,
Nobody really knows about the end times. Indications are even inconsistent if we have to rely on it. Moral decadence, calamities, wars, pestilence and other inclement conditions have always ravaged the world since recorded history yet we are still around to witness it all.
If I were alive during the bombing of Hiroshima or the blitz of Berlin, I would believe it is the end of the world, but for us watching from a distance, life goes on in spite of of it all.

I do not know the exact scripture on this (but if i had to i could find it) rog0322 all the things you speak of have been happening, but we are told to watch for all that you speak about to intensify and grow closer together like giving birth. and if you are paying attention to what is going on in the world you can see that is exactly what is happening today.
nobody will know the day or the time, but we will know the season. and if you have been following the signs you will know that we are in the season

Yes, I know that scripture that you are referring to. It is certainly interesting to say that is probably what is happening now. I think of the earthquakes that are increasing in frequency and intensity and see those as labor pains that the world is experiencing before the second coming. I know that one could say that the earthquakes are occurring because of the fracking for oil and natural gas, but I think that G-d look ahead in time and saw that happening. Yes, the season is a time that G-d says we can identify.

Oh isn't that so true! I think many people many times have felt like Mother Nature has loosed herself and that the end is near. And it is so true that history seems to repeat itself and that great nations fall. I wish mankind would not continue to repeat the same mistakes.

There is nothing that says there are going to be End Times. I do read of Great Change of times. Change in the way life is to something different. Nothing saying that the Human race is going to be wiped out completely.
It can happen in thousands of years from now, from mutations, from DNA experimentation, as well as from visitors from other worlds. That is not in my time though, this is years upon thousand of years of change. We have gone from no wheel, no fire, and much more to what is today.. There is alot of life that still has to live.. Don't even go there with the End times talk.. there is nothing for REAL that actually says it.. do the research of the writings they talk about.. see for yourself. don't rely on others research papers written.. do the research..
Also do some good meditation, I mean the meditation that is not for anything, just let it flow, your answers will be there.. if you truly listen with all that you are in life.

And as far as the mayan calendar and the date they CHOSE to fit it, is all false.
Remember the way time was measured then and now is JUST TOTALLY DIFFERENT.. even the seasons are different. So the math they used is messed up to..
Besides that I did some research, the piece of the calendar that this is suppose to be of, is broken.. so how can the give a good analysis?
Do research.. it is out there..

How very interesting. I should do more research. I just thought that I would like to see what others thought about those who predict that the end of times is here because they feel that the president is the last one based on a code. I know that the Mayan calendar ended many times and started again during its cycle. I have seen several documentaries on it.

Probably. It is the end of something. But since 2004 I never saw so many hurricanes, tsunamis so there's something going on. I don't think Earth will blow up or anything like that cause nature doesn't jump in evolution but maybe we keep seeing people dying in mass trageties like we are seeing, maybe new spirits will be reincarnated and that's how Earth is going to change and those who doesn't want to change their ways will reborn in a less advanced world.

I would not want to be reborn in a lesser world, so I hope that many people change. I, too, have noticed all the increase in disasters and the increase in amount of monetary damages that are done. I cannot think that any country's economy would be able to survive those kinds of economic and population losses.

Some say that the signs already started and some say that the humans race is not going to end. Lots of confusions over all. But as we see everything is happening in the world and most of them are sure for something is definitely going to happen, which will cause the major disaster.

Yes, prashu228, I think that all cultures have some sort of expectation that the end is coming. The Mayans have the calendar that ends this year. The Muslim have the coming of a savior, just as the Christians and the Jew expect the Messiah.

This is just the beginning and the end. Yes..!!! We are living in the last days...If we just take a look around we are really closer to meet our Creator...This is just the beginning of sorrows to those who rejected GOD to come into their life On the other side to those believer and follower of JESUS CHRIST.Raise and stand up cuz our GOD is coming...He is coming very very near!!!...
As the scripture says " people will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited;they will be insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful and irreligious; they will be unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent, and fierce.they will hate the good, they will be treaherous, reckless and swollen with pride; they will love pleasure rather than GOD; they will hold to the outward form of our religion, but reject its real power

Blink69nix0 you are certainly telling me all about those in my circles! I think I can no longer be surprised about how greedy people are and the disobedience toward authority amazes me. The thing I remember the most about the descriptive list of the end times is that evil is called good and good evil. No truer description of the society in which I find myself.

People will argue that nearly every generation thinks that things are so bad that it must be the end times. But I don't recall anyone talking about things as bad as they are now so perhaps we are in the end times. What convinces me of that more than anything is the loss of maternal instinct--mothers leave their babies in hot cars to die, leave them at home while they go clubbing, allow their boyfriends to beat them--there is no connection there and it's more common than we think. So many mothers just do not truly care about their children. I'm not talking about all mothers, of course, but there is a huge number of them. I don't think the world has ever seen this before on this scale.

Oh yes, I do agree. I guess this may not be really appropriate for this forum, but I also see that the abortion rate is so high and the unborn are dying before having a chance to live. And I do believe that each generation does think that the younger ones are breaking with all tradition and going a separate way that is not good.

I do not know about the Mayan calendar but I know that we certainly live in a time where people do not show natural affection and are super self centered...etc. I guess it could get worse, but I sure do not see how.

Oh my. I would be terrified if it were to become much worse. It would be great if people could learn from past societies that became great and the fell because of pride and thoughlessness.

Yes, especially as we see the armies gathering around Israel yet again. I know that many times in the past this has been true. However, reading the prophesies and reading the newspaper are almost the same thing it seems.
