The DKI Jakarta governor, Joko Widodo will stop the permittion for mall in 2013 in Jakarta area..But for the permit which had been allowed, Jokowi can`t do anything
he said that he focus to build a housing for normalize Ciliwung river...The plan is still discussed by DKI government, Ministry of PU
He said too that Blok M-Thamrin will be used as creative public space for increasing people creativity
I think the idea for stopping mall is right..
Jakarta is crowded with mall..every place have mall...
What do you think about it??

the policy was also applied by Jokowi when he became Solo leader. based on what i read on newspaper, he rejected all proposals submitted by developer. to maintain the function of traditional market and to help sellers in traditional market, who are usually common/poor people, became his reason why he apllied the policy. Jokowi is not only wise I think but he is very brave too. he even rejected maybe billions rupiahs of bribe offered by the developers. he is really people's sweetheart and i wont besurprised if he becomes our president someday..

i think it's good idea
because Jakarta too hot
if Jokowi give a permit for build new mall, so jakarta more hot than before
Jokowi should concern to make good transportation and jakarta's population

yeah i agree to stop mall development, mall in jakarta is much enough
is all the mall in jakarta crowded? i don't think so
not like Surabaya, all of Surabaya's mall is always crowded with many people and transaction, but the activities outside mall still ongoing
i agree with Jokowi's plan, but if the ministry don't agree what will he do? let's pray for him

Yes right. Too many! If they want to make mall, try to spread it out further than Jakarta. Jakarta is already too crowded. Because of the development, flooding is everywhere just because of little longer raining. I think Jakarta has more mall than Toronto! When I went back to Jakarta 2 years ago, I was surprised with the mall. They are everywhere, and big. We only have a handful of big mall here, not as many as in Jakarta. Could not believe it.
