Downloading Files and Accidentally Hit- CANCEL - what the h*ck duh

A friend came and ask for my wifi access because she need to submit her monthly report.
She is doing her work while I am here Mylotting.
Suddenly I heard her "cry" - Huwahhhhhhh
And I ask WHY??????
She was downloading files to attach with her report.
It is almost DONE when she accidentally click CANCEL
Ever had same experience guys?... -hehehe

hi jai,
That was really su*ks I remember when I am doing some editing on my report I forgot the control S and suddenly there was a power cut off and my computer has no auto recovery that time I really hate it I end up doing it again, then I was downloading a movie for 2 days when I accidentally hit cancel again I was F*ck up that time I hate that moment really.

Exactly, she did a good humor to make her awake.
She's a bit sleepy and was not paying attention to what she is doing (lols)
I am sure this happened to almost everyone and such experiences give us a good lesson- something good.

This can be rather irritating because obviously the portion of the file downloaded so far will simply cease to be. however, I see no real cause for concern because it simply means that your friend has to start the download again from the beginning.
I could understand the shout of horror if it was a very large file, but with a modern internet connection even a file of a couple of hundred megabytes should not be a problem.

She's a bit annoyed because she's in a hurry and actually the report was supposed to be submitted yesterday.
but she's having trouble with her connection at home- that is the reason why she came to my house.
It's really a huge file- photos and videos for presentation.

Hi Jai,
Is there no pup up notice confirming that she must cancel it?
I also experienced it before but every program or files that
I'm downloading always have a prompt notice if I really want
to cancel the download. Poor friend of yours it seems it's her
bad day.

I am sure she saw it (notice) or the confirmation.
But I am sure she is also sleepy because she just came home from graveyard shift.
I cannot help her with her report since we have different types of report (she's a secretary and I don't have any idea with the kind of files she have).
Well, poor little lady- she started all over again

Jai sis, this same matter ever happened to me, a few times in my life. I think the only solution is, we should never do things in a rush. Whenever i am in a rush i tend to encountered this type of unwanted problem. So how is your that friend at last? She needs to download another time that important files, right? Hope that files are all easy to download, so won't create many problem to her. Have another nice weekend again...

hi jaiho is there any recourse for her when she did that? I when I was fairly new on my computer managed to move some files into delete file
then accidentally hit delete. but I had a way to retrieve most of them so all were not lost. the worst I thing I did lately was hit the post button when I meant to hit the preview. I had so many typos and errors I just asked mylot admins to please delete this as its too full of errors and wi

Good thing she only cancelled it and did not delete it.
But it takes few minutes to attach the files since it composes of videos and photo (some slide show and excel)
She's also late with her report, she was supposed to submit it the other day and that is one reason why she's a bit tensed while doing/sending her report.
Don't worry with your typo error ma'm- we do understand about it and honestly we are used to it already.
The good thing is- we can still managed to read and relate with your post

I had experienced that in my Computer class, we made a 5 x 5 video clips with sounds and when I saved it, well almost done saving and downloading, i hit accidentally some of the button of the keyboard and freeze the computer for 5 minutes. When, the freezing was gone, the video also did not save and the worst was I need to redo it, the whole from the very beginning.
My teacher always told us, save it every time even if you are not finish yet because you don't know what will happen next.

Yah, with the old OS and Pc before, we need to keep saving our work not to lose it when thing went wrong.
But now, it's good that new pc's and laptop autosaved our work when something happen.

Well I actually use IDM when I'm downloading, I can still resume my downloading using that and it's really good and fast. I do experience that cancel button sometimes, but here in mylot that happens too. I was responding to a comment then the internet connection suddenly goes slow and its gone. When I refresh it, everything I type is gone and because my that number thing beside my name is still lower than 500, I'm not allowed to use copy paste :( so I need to from the top again. _

If you keep active here -then you will be able to reach 500 in 2 days or maybe in a week depending on your time.
I know how annoying it is, when you lost your comment or post and have to type everything... :(
