My Lot Virtual World, Anyone?

My son showed me a site called Neopets, that he and his brother had belonged to since it began (practically-- over 10 years for both of them). They have virtual neohomes, and neofurniture-- you play games and socialize and earn neopoints to build your home in a neighborhood in Neopia.
In a discussion elsewhere on MyLot, I had compared MyLot to a shiny cyber city-- where everyone is unique, but we all speak the same language. So I described my MyLot "house", and someone else (you know who you are LOL) described theirs--
Hey Admin, if you see this, do you think we could build a city? still get paid for participating, but also get points for playing games and things and build virtual houses?
Hey My Lotters, would this interest any of you?

--- I was thinking Mylotopolis.. I don't know. But I'll tell you, My Lot could make a fortune that way. Look at all the Facebookers who spend money on farmville, and all the people who live in Neopia on neopets. Social Sim gaming is the biggest thing out there. People like combination social/gaming sites, and our community would grow and prosper.

Yes, and I saw a while ago about a virtual reality city where you can be anybody you want. Characters, clothes, everything. I can't remember the name of it, though. I don't have time to have much fun on the computer. The only fun I get is coming to mylot. And talking to some very creative people who are just a joy to be around. Like people that own alpacas. Off topic here, I have read other posts of yours and I had no idea your were such a talented individual. And you may work hard but your (to me) wonderful life is a great reward.
Back to Mylotopolis. I like that much better than Myopia. I might even be convinced to join but only if I could be your neighbor.

Not sure, deazil, but you might be thinking of Second Life. It's just one of a number of virtual worlds where you can do all the things you describe. Create an avatar/character, shop, listen to live music, concerts and deejays, dance, own property or a home, have a business or get a job, etc. Lots of virtual worlds have come and gone, over the years, but besides Second Life, there has been The Sims Online, There.com, InWorldz, Habbo Hotel (for young people) and many many more :)

Definitely! Think of the fun we could have, running around Mylotopolis--decorating houses, adding pets and things--and then we could have a mall, where mylotters could sell things they make, like etsy or ebay (but better)-- we could have FUN! I was amazed when my son sent me to neopets-- I would love to have something like that here. Both my boys said when it first started, it was small-- like mylot, when you look at the numbers. And now it's amazing. I love the virtual houses

Hi friend, good to hear about this new site, but mylot is a place for discussions and we will get more fun and enjoyment while discussing about various things in this virtual world. This kind of virtual playing activities are good for kids, now we are grown up and we must enjoy with our discussing activities instead of playing games and building house in a virtual place

we do participate in discussions on Mylot, true-- we are quite active in discussions. This was a suggestion about something as an addition to discussions, not in place of-- and some grownups (like myself) still enjoy playing games. The two things are not incompatible-- many adults on Facebook and elsewhere, like Neopets, also use those areas for discussion and other things. We weren't talking about changing Mylot, just adding to it.
